Pregnancy Journal

2008-06-16  (26 weeks)
time is sure flying by

We went on a week long family vacation to San Francisco from June 4-11 and had a blast.  Eric slept well (in one of the 2 queen beds with Jeff and I got the other bed to myself! YAY)  and behaved for the most part.  He really is a good little traveller.  I shouldn't have had any doubt because he is a laid back little guy.

He really missed his toys though as he didn't want to go to sleep the night we came back.  He wanted to "play, play play" as he kept telling us.

So I went for my check up today.

I'm exactly 26 weeks today but I'm measuring 33 weeks! wow2.gif.
The biggest difference in the pregnancy at this point is that I have a TON more amniotic fluid with Jacob than I did with Eric. With Eric I had to do non stress tests and this time I have 19cm of fluid (the average is anywhere between 5cm and 20cm).

Going to every 2 week checks and measuring fluid again (another UltraSound) in a month.

Blood pressure is a tiny bit raised but not alarmed.

Have to do the yucky glucose test, going to get it over with tomorrow and cross my fingers that I don't have the do the million (ok ok 3) hour test this time.

I gained weight this month but have only gained 11 so far this pregnancy. Would love to stay under or right at the amount that I delivered Eric at (can only gain 9 more)

And last but not least, C-section is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Monday September 15, my sister's 30th Birthday....this is her gift! 4918100915.gif

We're having a happy, healthy little ..............

BOY!!!!

We're excited to announce that we are having a second baby boy.  Jacob Elliot will grace our family mid-September 2008.

We went for the UltraSound this past Thursday.  Eric and I got there with a few minutes to spare and Jeff met us in the office.  Before we got out of the van, as Eric was finishing his snack, I asked him, "do you think we're having a baby girl or a baby boy?"  Without a second thought he said "boy."  As I was relaying this little conversation to the UltraSound tech she said "ya know kids sometimes have a sense......and ya know what?  He's right."  I looked at her in disbelief as she told us we're adding another boy to the family.

Baby Jacob is measuring right on time, everything looks good.

I thought Jeff was a little disappointed because he didn't say too much as he had to head back to work.  I called from my cell phone and broke out in tears, telling him i was sorry that I had disappointed him.  He assured me for a good 10 minutes that he was not disappointed and reminded me that it wasn't up to us what sex our child is.  Technically it's his sperm that decides but he is right that we leave it in the hands of God.

I guess he'll (or both of us hehe) will have to go on spoiling the baby girls in friends family's.  hehe

One more neat thing from the UltraSound, we have the pictures on paper and on a CD.  I thought it was so neat that the pictures could be uploaded to a CD, very cool.  8 pictures of our special little man!

I am drinking up a storm so we can avoid the non-stress tests like we had to do with Eric.  I've also been trying to watch what I eat, so I don't gain a million pounds this pregnancy.  This is super tough to do because when friends talk about foods that sound good to them, all of the sudden they sound good to me too.  I am especially loving breakfast foods right now.  And I've done a great job of havingsome type of breakfast everyday so I don't get queasy or low blood sugar in the morning.

Tax Day: 17 weeks

We've hit 17 weeks 1 day.
Feeling pretty good.
Staying plenty busy!

Big Ultrasound on May 8.  Really looking forward to seeing our Peanut on TV (as we tell Eric, 2) and making sure everything is going well.

April 5, 2008

This year is flying right along.

I am 15 weeks 5 days pregnant.  And my jeans and capris have stopped fitting.  Even the stretchy ones that I thought would last  alittle longer.  I still don't feel like I'm pregnant, just getting fatter, which is a bummer.

Tuesday I go to the OB for my monthly check.  While I get a little worried about getting an UltraSound each visit (my placenta is above the baby, making it tough to hear the heartbeat easily), it would be neat to see my little peanut on Tuesday.

We go for our "big" ultrasound on May 8, and I'm super excited about that one.  Hopefully peanut will behave and show us the goods. teehee

Besides the occasional cramp, I'm feeling good.  thank goodness.  Knock on wood, the morning sickness seems to have disappeared! woot woot

That's it for today!
