Well, just in the last week I have begun to really feel pregnant. I'm EXHAUSTED! And yesterday morning i skipped out on breakfast (i know- bad me) because i really didn't think i could keep it down if i tried!

On top of that, i've developed a really nasty cough. My chest is sooo congested and i keep hacking up things that just look un-natural...gross! It's hard to believe that with all of my violent coughing little baby in there is just fine. I can't help but worry that i'm jostling him/her around, but I know that he/she is well protected. I haven't taken any medication and I don't really want to....I know that there are some out there that are safe for baby, but for now i just want to wait it out and see if it gets better. I have a dr's appointment on Monday, so i can talk to her about it, too.

According to pregnancy.org, today my little blastocyst (cluster of cells, basically) turned into an embryo today! This week a little tiny face will start to develop, although it may look like a little alien.=)

A lot of people have asked me "When did you find out?" or "What did Brad say?" or "Was this planned?"  and so on....so- here's the story=)

Brad and I made the decision at the end of October that I would go off of birth control. We had recently started looking to purchase a house and we agreed that the next step would be to have a baby. To have a family has always been a very strong desire of ours. We just weren't expecting it to happen so quickly!

I found out on Sunday, December 23rd that i'm pregnant. I noticed that I had been exceptionally tired- but other than that I felt fine.  I told Brad that evening over dinner "Maybe I should take a pregnancy test" and we both agreed that I was being too paranoid and that I should wait atleast a couple weeks before taking a test- I mean, those tests are expensive!

Well, we were getting ready to goto sleep and just before I hopped into bed I impulsively grabbed the pregnancy test and took it. I honestly was NOT expecting it to be positive! When i saw the TWO pink lines (meaning PREGNANT) and not just the one line (meaning NOT pregnant) I just looked at it for a few seconds to let my mind grasp what I was seeing! From the bathroom I yelled "OOOHHH MY GOSH- BRAD- COME IN HERE!!!" he came into the bathroom thinking I saw a bug or something, but he found me standing there with the pregnancy test in my one hand and the other hand over my mouth. I said "oh my gosh- i'm pregnant." We just held each other for a while ...and then he said "I thought I told you to wait to take one of those tests!!" LOL that's my hubby...lol For good measure- I took another test the next morning, which also came back positive.=)

Anyways, we told our families over Christmas and for the most part, everyone is thrilled for us. I'm still very early in my pregnancy- if you're counting from my LMP (last menstrual period...) i'm approximately 4.5 weeks although conception probably didn't happen until a few weeks ago... I feel fine- my boobs are a little sore and my gag reflex is a touchy, and I'm TIRED. But i'm also watching for symptoms- I probably wouldn't have noticed these things as much if i didn't know i was pregnant.=) I have a doctors appointment next week. I'll give you an update as soon as I have one!!

YYAYYY WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!! =)
