Baby has arrived!

not much going on...

Hey everyone...just a little update. Sorry I haven't updated much- there just isn't much going on! Brad and I moved into our new house and we're really excited=) Thanks to everyone that helped!

The last couple of weeks I have come straight home from work and changed out of my scrubs into sweat pants or something stretchy so that i could clean/paint. Well, last night Brad and I were going out to dinner and I went to put on a pair of my normal pants and I COULDN'T EVEN GET THE ZIPPER UP. lol! I mean, there was just no way! They fit fine a couple of weeks ago! According to pregnancy.org the baby is a little under 1 1/2 inches long.=

My only complaint is that i've been getting heart palpitations really bad. I've had them for years but now they are much longer in duration and much more frequent. Yesterday I had a 15 minute strech where my heart rate was almost 130 and I was all sweaty. It was pretty scary! My mom said she went through the same thing when she was pregnant with me. My doctor said that unless i get crushing pain in my chest than to just dismiss it as another quirk of pregnancy.

I have another appointment in about 2 weeks and we'll get to hear the heartbeat.  I'll let you know if anything changes!

Little update

I had another appointment on Wednesday but nothing too exciting happened. I got weighed (i'm 127 which is almost 10 pounds more than I was when Brad and I got married...ugh.)  We met one of the mid-wives (who was really nice) and just filled out some more paperwork.  I'll go again at 12 weeks- so in about a month.  I'm getting a nice little "pooch" on my tummy  which is either the result of a growing uterus and baby or the result of my continuous hunger!

Also, i'm getting sharp pains through my belly button! It's really uncomfortable! Darn ligament pain...

*ssnniiiffff* AHHHH i can BREATHE! Bunch of updates=)

Well, I can officially say that I am over my cold! yeehaw- i'm thrilled! Well, my nose is actually really runny still- but i've heard that can go on throughout the entire pregnancy. What's important is that I can finally get some sleep.

Everyone has been so sweet and giving me caring words and advice, but I have to admit something. Although I did have a horrible cold- I'm having pretty much NO morning sickness what so ever...I have moments when I feel nauseous but I haven't thrown up once. Knock on wood! I read that morning sickness usually starts between weeks 4-6 and I'm in the middle of my 7th week. SO- here's hoping that I got lucky! My biggest complaint is honestly just how badly my chest hurts (and by chest- i mean boobies;)  ). I'm a stomach sleeper and that's just not working for me because that area is just so tender! I'll have to get used to not sleeping on my stomach anyways I guess.=) Also, i'm still really tired.

A new symptom that has developed is that i'm HUNGRY just about every minute of the day. I stuff my face and then a half hour later my stomach is growling! I'm just trying to make healthy choices. If i don't eat I get a sick feeling in my stomach so I pretty much have crackers by me at all times.

I have been having some mild cramping, and although I'm told it's probably round ligament pain (all those muscles stretching and growing down there) I had an ultrasound on Friday. Everything so far is A-O.K.! The cramping is mild and I'm not having any spotting or anything so i'm not too worried about it. The babies heart rate was 129 and it looks like a little bean with nubs on the sides where the arms and legs are developing! It was really cool!! Brad was pretty amazed just going "oh wow! cool!" throughout the whole thing=) It was so much fun!  I posted a pic (a very blurry one!) of our little bean!!

I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow- i'll let you know if anything exciting happens!

Feeling a little bit better...Plus- 1st dr's appt.

Well, i'm feeling overall much better- but i still can't sleep.  Everytime i lay down i start to cough. I've tried sleeping sitting up and it's just not working! Brad has been really great and helpful but now i think he's getting a little annoyed that i'm keeping him up all night with my coughing! He's starting to get a little sick now, too- but atleast he can take medicine if he wants- so he doesn't get too much sympathy from me!

I had my first doctor's appointment on Monday. Well, actually- it was just an appointment with a nurse. And then next Wednesday I meet with a midwife (I chose to go with a midwife instead of an OB). The appointment was 2 hours long! She just asked lots and lots of questions and told me my approximate due date (either aug 31st or sept. 1st) and we did some blood work (checked for Hep, HIV, CBC, RH factor, & to see if i'm a carrier for CF) and I peed in a cup. Also, she told me about Meriter (the hospital where i'll be delivering) and gave me a TON of books and pamphlets.

One thing that I thought was strange was that they didn't even do a urine pregnancy test on me or check my blood work. She said "well, did you take a pregnancy test at home?" and i said "yeah- two of them" and she said  with a smile "well, we believe you=)" I just figured they would want to see my "numbers" as far as the pregnancy hormones go to make sure that i am indeed pregnant. *shrug*  Oh well, i guess they know what they're doing! Besides, i'm pretty darn sure that i am pregnant- considering how i feel! lol

Anyhoo- that's my little update. Hope everyone is doing well.=) Thanks for checking my site!
