I am now 23 weeks pregnant.

1 down 2 to go!!

I'm done with my  1st trimester!!  It's kind of hard to believe that it's already here.  All the parts are formed and now the growing can begin.  The baby is now between 3.2inches-4.2 inches long :-)

My mom came with me to my apointment today and we got to listen to the heart beat, 155bpm.  Yay for a growing baby.  Everything looks good so far and I go back in 4 more weeks to have some more blood work done and then 2 weeks after that to do my next ultrasound.  Then I think time will start to fly!! In 6 weeks I'll be half way through my pregnancy!!!!!!!  Yikes/yay.

Over the last 2-3 weeks I've developed siatic nerve pain :-P  Not fun and I haven't been too sucessful at stretching it out and getting rid of it.  So I am hoping that if I keep stretching it the pain will eventually stop.  We'll see.  I still have some nausea, :-P , and I am hoping that will go away in the next week or 2, we shall see.

My goal this weekend is to get Dan to take a belly picture to show everyone my little bump before it becomes a big bump.  :-)

Shopping!

It's offcial, my dress pants no longer fit.  I wore them last week for a meeting with work and I thought my waste was going to be squashed into 2 parts.  Ouch!  After 5 hrs I came home and had a huge red mark around my wasted where my pants were digging in.  :-P

Sooo...  Last week Grandma Riley and my mom took me clothes shoping for maternity clothes.  1st off, it was sooooo hot in the store I thought I was going to pass out (not good for a store where pregnant people go to shop).  It was fun though trying on clothes, I actually felt like I was begining to look pregnant.  Some people have noticed at work that I am getting a little bit of a bump :-)  After many hours and trips to 5 stores only to head right back to the 1st store I now (thanks to mom and grandma) have some dress pants and church clothes (aka tops to go with the pants) and some summer clothes and a pair of jeans.  An the most comfortable shirt that most importantly covers my entire stomach!! Yay!  No one wants to see my naked belly:-)

The most depressing thing about shoping though was that I'm not in the pregnant belly it really looks like you are going to have a baby mode and I'm not skinny like I used to be.  By the end of the day I just felt fat and was getting a little depressed and a lot tired!  Everyone else at the store was at least 6-9 months pregnant and some were huge.  (I saw one lady with her spandex pants, wife beater and t-shirt over top of the wife beater who was 8 months (ish) pregnant and had about 4 inches of her stomach hanging out, and she wasn't a cute pregnant person either.)

So now armed with my new wardrobe (and realizing that I love shirts that fit again and that my jeans(my regular ones) aren;t going to fit much longer) I am ready to head off dressed and not scaring anyone.

1 1/2 more weeks left in this tri-mester!! Yikes!   I've decided starting next week I'm going to have to begin taking belly shots to capture my growing tummy, exciting!!

Sleep...

Sleep is definitely the best thing in the world!! Sunday night I slept 14 hours!  It was beautiful and definitely needed after a long weekend.

I can start to feel my muscles in my abdomen stretching, last night when I went to bed it felt like I had done sit-ups all morning and now my abs were sore.  I guess it's a good thing though.

The nausea is getting better, I now have good days where I hardly feel sick at all but then a bad day will hit where I feel sick from noon till after I go to bed and that's no fun!

Dan's back from his trip to Africa but leaves again today for a 3 day high school retreat for school, and next week is another show week so I know we won't see each other much then either.  Sigh.  Maybe in May we'll get to spend some time together.

Dan's started talking to the baby and I love it!  Most of the time it's to tell it to stop making me sick and how that's not a nice thing to do, it's cute.

Into month 3 already!?!

I can't believe that I have begun my 3rd month of pregnancy!  It's so strange to think that it just 30 weeks I'll have a baby.  I was just feeling my stomach today and even though it's not really a bump yet it is definitelty getting firmer rather than the little bit of soft "pudggy tummy" that I used to have, kinda weird, there is more resistance when I push on my belly than before the baby.  (maybe that has a little to do with the fact that I always have to pee so my bladder is always full, or maybe it really  is because my uterus is growing).  Soon there will be a bump! Maybe next month we'll see.  I still can't get enough of looking at the baby pictures what a cute baby we have.  Dan has been the best throughout this making sure that I have all the food I need and being sympathetic with my nausea.  I definitely love the time we have to spend together and I treasure all of it because I know it will be less when the baby comes.

My parents have been great too, thanks Dad for stocking up on my favorite anti-nausea snacks, yay bagels and cream cheese!!

Sigh, what I need most right now though is sleep!!!!!!  Working 2, 12hr shifts in a row with no afternoon nap is killing me! :-P Oh well, I can sleep in tomorrow.
