Baby has arrived!

31 weeks down 9 to go

Wow, I can't believe how time flies!! Just 2 months left till the big day. Now that you have turned I can feel your little kicks and stretches more, mostly because they involve feet under my ribs or a head-but to the bladder. I think you are also working on some sort of martial arts because some days my belly looks like there is popcorn being popped in it as you jab your little arms and knees.

Tuesday grandma Ellis and I went and bought your bedding for your crib and Daddy put together the glider for the nursery and today we re-arranged the furniture in the nursery so it looks nice and cosy just waiting for a baby to complete the picture.

Dan is very anxious for the baby to be born, every day he asks when it will come and play with him :-) He's still managed to keep the gender a secret which I am very proud of him for, though somedays I really just want to know! :-)

2008-07-15 (25 weeks)

Week 25 ultrasound

Baby Burger was much more cooperative for this ultrasound than the last one. He/She now weighs 1lb 10oz! :-) Yay! I'm not sure how long our little one is though, the femur is about 4cm in length they said. Everything looked good, HR=145 and all the views they got said that the baby is growing quite nicely. (I'm just hoping for a little head!!)

We even were treated to a few 3D shots of Baby Burger's face. He/She really likes to keep those hands up by his/her head though. Both for this ultrasound and the last one we couldn't seem to get Baby Burger to put his/her hands down. Needless to say we did get a cute picture of the baby, it has a super cute nose!! And it was showing off it's dramatic flair with the hand flung against the forehead and one resting on it's chin. (I think I know how this kid will like to sleep, they said the baby was all nestled up against the placenta and using it for a pillow. We also got to see a couple of yawns (I guess the baby was getting tired after kicking mommy) and one great big back-bending stretch. I was a great joy to see our little one again and see just how much it's grown. Just 15 weeks to go!

2008-07-04 (23 weeks)

Daddy
So Dan finally felt the baby kick! About a week ago on our way home from youth group the baby was very active and Dan actually was able to feel it kick for the 1st time. I think I was more excited about it than he was, I couldn't stop grinning and saying, "Did you feel it, did you really feel it kick? Isn't that so cool!" Now that Dan's felt it maybe the baby will decide to show off for the grandparents too. It's definitely become more active in the past few days and it's 2 favorite places to kick me are 1) in the belly button, which it think it funny and 2) in the bladder, which is not so much fun. And when he/she stretches sometimes it almost tickles :-) I can't wait to meet this active little one but I am enjoying every (well almost every) minute of being pregnant and trying to savor all the memories.

2008-06-24 (22 weeks)

Amazing
Monday morning I was sitting in my PJ's feeling baby burger kick when I just happend to glance down and much to my amazement I could see my belly moving!!! At first I thought it was just my breathing or a figment of my imagination but then I kept looking and nope I was right. There to the side of my belly button (which will soon no longer be) was an area about the size of a silver dollar that kept bouncing when I would feel the baby kick. It was so neat to see and I am still so amazed that there is a new life growing in my belly :-) Now if Baby Burger would just be more active when Daddy is around that would be great! (Dan's gone at the moment and they whole time I have been writing this Baby Burger is doing gymnastics or karate in my belly. But when Dan's around baby always seems to be sleeping... some day!).
