HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to myself : )
I'll consider today as my day too since many women have told me that I'm considered being part of this group. I do have a live baby with a heartbeat and everything too. So, what did I do for myself? I pampered myself by getting a pedicure and manicure since I won't have a chance later when baby's out. I've waited long enough to get my nails this long and they're now the longest i've had it without chipping or breaking, so why not right?

Kris slepted at 5am working on some freelance gig and told me happy mothers day when he came to bed. That was sweet. He then got me some flowers and a dvd movie called, "Look Who's Talking Too" in the morning. I love this movie, the little girl in there is sooo adorable. I can't wait to see it again!

I deserve this pampering too because I'm pretty set on getting ready for baby. I was totally nesting this whole weekend. Yesterday, I packed for all of us to the hospital. We got her sheets on the crib, put together her swing and bouncer. Washed the rest of her clothes and I even got my car steamed cleaned from sands and what other filthy stains I've had. It's just so we can begin putting her car seat and stroller in. My car looks brand new...I love it!!! I found a coupon to get this done for only $40, while this other location was charging $109. We love a sweet bargain to save!!!

We then went to his aunt Jan's get together and it was really nice to see everyone again. Everyone's excited to meet our daughter and we can't wait either. Most mom's there think's that I'll be delivering her early since she was sitting low in my belly, so we'll see how it goes. I keep telling baby to just chill inside until pass 37 weeks.  Trust us, we're just as excited to meet her too, but just not this soon. She'll have her moment to shine in no time, so no rush. Thank you for the happy mother's day wishes everyone...love you all!!!

How to or avoid inducing yourself...
Here's some natural ways to induce yourself if you're late or like me with my early contractions, I'd like to avoid this as much as possible.

If only someone had told me what contractions were. Many women don't even know what it is until detected by the doctors, like me. Here's the best way to describe it. Every few minutes or so, your stomach hardens (mostly on top) and you feel this rush of pressure on your chest. Then you're out of breath for a few seconds. This will happen ever few minutes. Before, not knowing what it was, I thought it was baby moving up towards my chest area and creating this pressure. Who knew...

Sexual intercourse
- This works in two ways to induce labor. First, female orgasm can bring on contractions. Second, semen contains prostaglandins. Prostaglandins work to help ripe and soften the cervix.

Walking - Walking may help to get baby to drop into proper position.

Nipple stimulation - Stimulating the nipples triggers the production of natural oxytocin. Oxytocin contracts the uterus.

Raspberry Leaf Tea - Rasberry leaf tea is not actually known for it's labor inducing properties, but it is believed to be helpful in toning the uterus and helping with labor.

Cinnamon stick tea - Take cinnamin sticks and boil them into a tea and drink. It actually tastes good so even if it doesn't bring on labor it may help you to relax.

Evening primrose oil - Evening primrose oil comes in small capsules similar to vitamin E. It is believed to help soften and ripen the cervix.

Accupressure - Accupressure may be helpful in inducing labor. Some pressure points you can try are the roof of your mouth, the webbing of your fingers between your pointer finger and thumb, and above the ankle about four fingerspaces above is a pressure point.

Visualization/relaxation - Relaxation can help with labor induction. Try doing relaxation exercisers. They are also good practice for when labor actually begins.

Pineapple, cumin tea, eggplant parmesan, and spicy foods - are another thing you can try.

Other methods we do not recommend for inducing labor

Castor oil - Castor oil is also used for inducing labor. It tastes horrible! It is likely to make you feel sick and it probably won't work.

Herbs - There are other herbs you can use to induce labor. Without consulting your doctor or midwife we do not recommend the use of herbs.

8th month-2nd doctors visit
YAY!!!! I've made it to 34rth week. I just don't want her to come out this early. Late would be better for me and my family since my brothers wedding is the week before her due date. Of course we can't attend  This visit was just to see how everything's coming along. My doc was on vacation, so I had a  great nurse practitioner. Again my blood pressure and baby is doing great. She measured my belly from top to bottom and thinks that she's slightly above average in her size. I wanted to hear that from her since I've been concerned about her size. I just want her to be at least 7pds. Other than that, we talked about my weight gain and that it's normal. Next week I can begin to walk again, since I can't now because I've been getting some early braxton hicks contractions. She thinks the weight gain is also due to my  swollen joints. On my next visit, I might get another cervix check to see I've begun to dialating. EEEEKKKK, i'm getting nervous. I just hope and pray that god will take care of me and baby when the time comes.
