Daddy felt baby's kick! Last nite (1/21-Monday) at about 10pm, while Kris and I were talking, I felt a kick. Luckily Kris was just right there to tell him that I felt something. He rushed over to feel my belly and she gave him a good kick. At the time, babygirl was sitting down low near my abdomen. He kepted his hand there for a couple of minutes and then he felt it again! A big smile showed up on Kris's face. He was just in awww that he was finally able to feel his daughter. She kicked on Sunday morning too, but Kris was still asleep. I hope that kick should make him love his new girl even more knowing that she's in there and saying hello to her daddy : )

IT'S A GIRL!!! The long wait is finally over as we discovered that we're having a girl on 1-18, Friday morning at 9am. My paperwork said to drink 32. oz an hour before the appt. I did so and boy did I have to go during the exam. She allowed me to release 1 cup to relieve my bladder. After so, she began to examine her heart. She was trying to take pictures of it's 4 valve, but since I drank some sprite to make sure she's going to show the gender part, the technician had a hard time doing so. The baby was moving sooo much! I thought that was funny. Perhaps, I shouldn't have drank half the can. She ended up examining her other body parts instead, such as her brain, stomach, kidney, liver, arms and legs. Kris and were wondering when she was going to tell us what gender it was. Finally towards the end, she saw 3 white lines on the screen, which indicated it's a girl. She said she was 95% sure. After roaming around some more, the tech said alright, it's for definately a girl. I looked over to Kris with a tear and the biggest smile of relief. I wanted and knew I was going to have a girl. I just lost my grandmother and I will loose Cindy and Alyssa soon when they move to Virginia. My baby girl will need to me company when that time comes around. Kris on the other hand looked utterly shocked. He said it'll just give him a reason to have another one. The whole examination took about an hour, she had to take tons of pictures for my doc to review. She gave us a cd filled with about 10 pictures. I was disappointed that the technician did not put in our baby's "3 lines" gender picture. I'll have to call them back to request for it.
After we left, Kris look frantic and disappointed. I asked him if he was ok and he basically told me that he doesn't know what to expect, how to relate to her and how protective he's going to have to be with her. I told him that all babies will all require the same thing no matter it's gender and by the time it's old enough, he'll have his boy to worry about. I felt bad because I know he wanted his "junior", but what can I do. This was completely out of my hands. I hope he doesn't love it any less because it's a "she". He sure surprised me later though. When I came back from work, he told me that he was listening to one of his favorite band called "journey". The song was called, "Highway Run". He said while listening, he thought of his new "girl" and almost teared up. The song was about falling in love with this girl and that he's forever hers. I choked up inside when he told me that. I thought it was sooo sweet! I think, more like I know he'll LOVE her when he holds her for the first time. When our girl get's married and they have a father and daughter dance, he should dedicate that song to her. He did tear up though listening to Journey's, "Open Arms". That was one of his mom's favorite song. He's always thinking about her and how much he wanted her to meet our granddaughter. I definately teared up after that. I know she's looking after all of us right now. Our daughter will for sure carry on my middle name because it's been passed down from my mom's side of the family. "Ai" means love in chinese. She'll also for sure going to carry on Kris's mother's name. We might call her "Audrey "Ai Sharon Cousens.

4rth month-doctors visit I just had another visit with my doc last friday. You get this once a month in the beginning and once a week at your last month. So far, baby's heartbeat sounded great and my blood pressure is fine. You have to pee in a cup at every visit o see if your glucose and protein is good. So far, it is good. I'm trying to stay away from sweets because the last thing I want is to develop gestational diabetes. At this time, my sensitive smell discipated. I can eat more spinach without feeling gross. I still won't touch broccolli though : ) I'm also very tired by evening and still crash out early. Oh, my indigestion has gotten better though. The only problem these days are trying to sleep on my left side. They say that has better circulation for baby and I, but I've always been a back sleeper. I always end up on my back by morning or whenever I wake up. I want to buy those pregnancy pillows, but they're $50!!! Goodness, I'd expect it to be a lot cheaper since being pregnant itself is not easy. I'll see what else is out there on-line. Counting down, 2 more days and I find out the baby's sex!!!! YAHOOOOOO....

Baby's First Kick or Punch??? Every morning that I awake up and the world is in silence and there's only me and baby while daddy's asleep, I would feel my belly and talk to my baby. This morning I woke up at 6:50am, almost time to get up for work. I put my hands on my belly and started talking to it. I love to feel how tight it would get towards the bottom at a specific location. I assume that's where it's nesting. Well, this morning perhaps my hands gave the baby too much warmth or maybe I woke it up, but at one point, I felt a little kick!!! I was screaming inside, what was that??? This is what it felt like, take your pinky and flick it against your skin. It was just like that, but underneath the stomach area. I was sooo happy!!! I coudn't believe it because Cindy didn't feel anything until the 20th week. Even if I'm just 17th week, they say I could possibly feel something towards this time 16-17th week, but never would I imagine I could feel it this soon. I know I wasn't hallucinating because I've never felt anything like it. After the little kick, it moved lower and got harder at another position to nest. I love this stage, I love being pregnant. Some nights I get really bad back aches and indigestions, but it's ALL worth it!!! Love ya baby...nice to know you're doing alright in there.
Experts Say:
When should I start to feel my baby move?
You probably won't feel your baby kick until sometime between 16 and 22 weeks, even though he started moving at 7 or 8 weeks and you may have already witnessed his acrobatics if you've had an ultrasound.
Your build may also have something to do with when you'll be able to tell a left jab from a hunger pang. Thinner women tend to feel movement earlier and more often than women who carry more weight.
What does it feel like?
Women have described the sensation as being like popcorn popping, a goldfish swimming around, or butterflies fluttering. You're more likely to feel these early movements when you're sitting or lying quietly.
