This will be a great year with our baby coming into the RAT year. They say that rat's are good to have and they get along well with a dragon, like moi : ) We'll find out.
THE EARTH RAT 1948 AND 2008
The Earth adds solidity to the Rat's personality. An Earth Rat is conventional and a good achiever who likes to establish roots early in order to make a secure future for himself and his family. These Rats have the typical Rat ingenuity and mental capacity, but a strong sense of reality often alludes them preventing them from going after anything that could be impromptu. Earth Rats are honorable and love to be stabilized. Slowly and steadily acquiring wealth gives them a sense of inner peace. Although they are capable of being stingy with their finances, they do possess warm feelings for their family and friends.

Body Support Pillow Last weekend, I gave in and bought myself a body pregnancy pillow at Baby's R Us. The kind that can suppport your back, support your baby while nursing and support your baby when you want her to rest on it. For the price, it's rather expensive, but in looking at it, it's a great investment if I know that I can use this again on my next pregnancy. It also eliminates me from having too many pillows on my bed. So, when I travel, this one big worm is all that I'm gonna need to bring with me. I love it. My backs been hurting and aching by evenings from the weight and hormonal changes. So, it can be really bothersome. One other good thing about this is it keeps me sleeping on my side, which I find is really hard to do when I've always been a back sleeper. So, overall I think it's a great investment.
Best Recommended Positon:
"Some doctors specifically recommend that pregnant women sleep on the left side. Because your liver is on the right side of your abdomen, lying on your left side helps keep the uterus off that large organ. Sleeping on the left side also improves circulation to the heart and allows for the best blood flow to the fetus, uterus, and kidneys."

Goodbye to our turtles "John and Yoko" Another part of nesting is giving away our beloved turtles, "Johh & Yoko" this past Sunday. We bought them both for only $8 at chinatown, 5 years ago. Their breed was red ear sliders. They live up to 25 years. They were the size of a small candle when we got them, now they were larger than our palms. They've moved with us several times and have made us laugh a few times. They may only be worth that price, but they were priceless to us. We've been told that with the baby here, we'll be neglecting our pets quite a bit. We didn't want that to happen, so Kris and I decided to give them up. Not just anywhere though. With much research we found a reptile store that would offer them so much more than what could give them. We wanted to one day expand their tanks to a larger one so they can grow bigger, but our home wouldn't have room for that. The store that we found has a man made pond full of turtles for them to make friends. When they were put in, they were the babies and the most beautiful ones. The tank had full of female turtles. They were huge. They told us that we had 2 males, so maybe their names should've been "John and Yoda". Their long nails indicated they were both males. It was no wonder why the females were just all over them the minute they were put in. Nevertheless, they seemed happy to have all the amenities such as a bridge, a rock area to sunbath in, and a bunch of logs to climb on. We were concerned about them not eating there since we only provided a specific expensive turtle food, but I think they'll like what they're gonna get. Daily, the store will give them worms, fishes and other turtle foods. It's definately so much more than what can provide them since all those foods can add up. So, we know they're in a better place. Kris and I talked about one day owning turtles again when we own a house with a huge yard. He wants to build the same pond and get some more turtles. We're also going to own a different breed though, the kind that lasts for 150 years and grows up super huge and heavy. I didn't get to write down their names. We'll be visiting them quite a bit since the store owner said they'll most likely won't get sold soon. Everyone wants baby ones. We'll miss John & Yoko quite a bit, but at least we'll know their in good hands.

"Nesting" weekend Alright, first, even though I was getting over a cold, I'd like to make a note that she is kicking quite a bit this past weekend. On Sunday morning, Kris felt the biggest kick from her. That was sooo cool! I love it when she's moving around. This way, I know she's doing well in there. She also LOVES to sit very low near my abdomen. Sometimes it almost feels as though you're so bloated in the lower area. I've heard it's because she's a girl and loves to be near where it's the warmest. Whatever it may be, it's kinda uncomfortable sometimes. I won't worry though.
What a weekend it was. I had a bit of a nesting moment when my dresser of 10 yrs broke on me again. We ended up getting another dresser for me and therefore, was hunting for a small white dresser for the baby's room. Although she will be on a basinette in our room for a few months, I'd like for her to be in her own room shortly after. Although I would love for her to stay with me in the bed, I would feel more safe if she was in her bed. Kris worries me because he moves around soo much and sometimes accidently end up hurting me. To get back on the subject, our quest isn't complete. We still need to rearrange some things around in our room and baby's room. I think the baby room's theme color will be red/pink/brown and with some green (like the ladybug line at Baby's R US) ? I don't tihnk we can finish it by chinese new year though. I will target on finishing our room by this weekend at least. Kris takes care of the cleaning and big stuff, while I rearrange the clothes in the dressers. It's not easy when you're body aches by early evening and there's nothing much you can do except to rest until the next morning. I can't wait to have it all ready for baby's grand entrance!!!
