That coffee shake does sound good - I don't drink coffee, but I will if it is mixed with ice cream and/or chocolate. My husband went to school for a year in Portland, and he loved it there. I have never been to OR.
It has actually gotten easier to keep the secret now. And yesterday when I was talking to my dad on the phone, I felt a little nervous about when I do actually tell them. I don't know why, I guess because it's such a big announcement. My mom is having Thanksgiving at her house, and I think both of my sisters and my grandma will be there. My dad always likes to take a picture of everyone sitting at the dinner table, so my plan is to offer to take the picture, then stand up and say, "OK, everyone smile, because I'm pregnant!" Then I will take the picture and see what happens. My mom probably won't even understand what I said and will totally miss it. But everyone else should get it. I'm not sure how we're going to tell my husband's brothers (who live near us) yet, but they are going to be the most excited of all I think! I can't wait to tell them.

What is a Black Tiger Shake?
With all the Mexican food I've been eating, I've been craving a nice cold margarita!

Hi, Just wanted to say that I know exactly how you feel about having to wait to tell people. My husband and I just found out last Tuesday, but we are waiting until Thanksgiving (hopefully) to tell people. It is hard because, like you said, the excitement and symptom stuff has kind-of wound down now, so that I almost forget that I am actually pregnant. It is especially hard because my husband's brother and his wife have been unable to conceive for 4 years and I know they will be extremely excited to have a little niece/nephew around, but we can't tell them yet either. Plus, my sister just had a baby in Sept., and her son had to undergo major heart surgery, which caused the family stress. I'm not sure if my mom has recovered enough by now to hear any news from me! And I'm the youngest in the family, so she always thinks of me as the baby, even though I'm 26! Anyway, sorry to ramble but good luck and just know there are people out there going through the same things!! By the way, how are you going to tell your family? I am trying to think of something creative...
First of all, congratulations! My husband and I tried for over a year before conceiving. Thanks for signing my guestbook, as well. As for your question in your journal, we had trouble keeping the secret too. We decided after about 5 weeks of pregnancy to tell our parents and siblings. We swore them to secrecy, but we had to tell someone! Once we had our first ultrasound and found out that we had a strong heartbeat, we went ahead and told everyone. We just didn't want to have to break everyone's hearts if we miscarried. Good Luck!

Congratulations! Isn't the feeling of being a mother the best feeling ever imaginable. I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant with our first child; so, everything is very new to me.
My nausea kicked in at 7 weeks and is still with me. All I can say is SALTINE CRACKERS AND GINGER ALE. I wish you and your husband the best. Enjoy your pregnancy and keep us all posted.
