36 weeks and counting...
Well, since my last entry alot has happened. We got our 3D ultrasound and it was amazing. It was so neat to watch him and see all his features. We got a DVD and some pictures. I don't have a scanner so they aren't on the computer. I wonder how close he will look to them when he arrives. I would suggest the 3D to anyone thinking about it. Especially since the doctors say I wont be having another ultrasound, unless there is a concern.
We had our baby shower a couple weeks ago. It was a wonderful day. We just had family there, which i enjoy more anyway. We got tons of gifts and everything was from the registry. Luckily my mom spread the word that we didn't need any more clothes. Even though my aunt and grandma couldn't help themselves and had to get a little something. After the baby shower we decided to get the furniture for the room. We ended up getting a great deal at Goore's. The crib is beautiful and it converts to a twin bed, so we will have it for years. We set it all up right away and i couldn't wait to fill the dresser and put the crib bedding in. We pretty much have everyting we will need. We havent' gotten a baby monitor yet or a breast milk pump. I am not sure if i will be able to breast feed, because of my reduction surgery, so we are holding off on that. The monitor i want is one with a TV screen so that is a little pricy so we are holding off for now as well.
Somedays i feel prepared for Devon to show up any day and then somedays i feel very anxious like we have so much to do. The most important is to get the carseat and base installed. Allen is going to work on that this week, then we will get them checked. It will be interesting driving around with a carseat. Another thing to make me think about how he is coming so soon!
We finished our childbirth classes last week. I am glad that we took that classes. We thought we knew what we needed to know, but we learned alot. Especially Allen. Tomorrow we are going to take a tour of the hospital so we will know where to go and park on the big day. I have started to pack a bag for the hospital. Most of the things i am leaving out because i will need them until that day. At least i have a list of what to grab.
My dad got us a camcorder for my birthday and it is amazing. It is so nice. We have been practicing. Allen will be recording the important parts of the birth.
I only have 2 weeks left until maternity leave. It seems like so long considering Devon could technically be here then. I can not wait. I know time will go slower once i am not working, but i have been looking forward to this break for 9 months now! |
