9/29/07 The ultrasound pictures are up! It was so exciting to see our baby for the first time. If you click on one of the pictures it shows it larger. You can see the baby's head, an arm and a leg. I was so happy the pictures turned out as well as they did. I sometimes have a difficult time distinguishing the pictures on ultrasounds. Nanny and Bob came by to visit us this weekend as well. We had a great time catching up with them. We don't get to see them nearly as often as we like.

9/27/07 - Our First Ultrasound Today was a very exciting day. We had our first ultrasound. The baby cooperated very well and was quite active. It was so exciting to see our little one for the first time. We were able to see the head, an arm and a leg! We also got the opportunity to hear the heartbeat, which was beating 158 times a minute! Everything looked great so far. By original estimates I am 10 weeks and 6 days today, and on the ultrasound I am 10 weeks and 4 days. Our next ultrasound won't be until I am 20 weeks, but at that time we will get to find out the sex of the baby if the baby cooperates. I will post the pictures in a day or two.

Uncle Jason - You Will Never Be Forgotten 9/17/07 - This evening was a devastating day. Around 11:00 at night we received the phone call that Ryan's middle brother, Jason, had been killed in an car wreck. Jason had only left the house from visiting earlier that day. The wreck happened only minutes after dropping his sister back off at home. Jason had just celebrated his 22nd birthday on 9/13. Ryan and Jason are the best of friends, with a bond that is rarely seen between two people. The world is a much better place for having had Jason in it. He was such a bright, energetic and fun loving person to be around. Jason was always available to help and was there for every small and large change in our lives. He always had a smile. It was amazing what he was capable of - it would have been hard to find something he couldn't build or fix. His death comes as a tragic loss to all of us. He was so young and full of life. The best that can be said for Jason is that he lived a lifetime in his 22 years. He never passed up an opportunity. We are so grateful for our weekend with Jason and his brother and sister. Please pray for the family at this time as his loss will not easily be overcome. Jason was such an amazing person that he can never be forgotten or replaced. The bond that Ryan and Jason shared is irreplaceable and hopefully unbroken. We truly regret that our children will not have the opportunity to know this most amazing man. Jason - you will be remembered. Our children will know all about you. You will never be far from our hearts and minds. We hope you have peace and happiness. Good luck building your new shack in heaven. We love you and miss you.

9/17/07 This weekend was a lot of fun. Ryan's youngest brother Brent is on a short leave from Iraq, so he came to visit with his wife Erin. Ryan's other brother Jason, and his sister Ashley also got to come visit. We had a full house but a great time. It was the baby's first time to meet all of its aunts and uncles!!! We got to catch up with each other and spend a lot of time at the beach. Our only downfall was constantly fighting off the lovebugs that are swarming our house. We can't wait for September to be over so the bugs leave. Brent did an excellent job clearing a path out the front door each day. We can't wait to see all of them again. Please keep Brent in your thoughts and prayers as he returns to Iraq for several more months in a few short days.
