HE WALKS!
Oh my gosh, can you believe it?! At almost 15 months, he's a' walkin'!
Today, Jacob took his first unassisted steps. He has been crawling for months (since 9 months) and toddling around furniture for the last several months, but today he officially became Mr. Independent. My baby boy!!!!
What a pure joy it is to see your child take his first steps. What a true miracle! He is such a blessing - he completely enriches our lives. We are so grateful for him every day.
He talks a lot, and is very social. His "favorite" words are "Bight" (which means light), and "Baby". He is just recently becoming more cuddly! Yesterday he actually fell asleep in my arms following lunch (we were out to eat)....and I think that is maybe the 2nd time that has ever happened! I didn't want to move a muscle, just to savor the moment.
I love to watch him discover things. He is a very quick learner, and is very interested in just how things work. He has a set of plastic stacking bowls/cups (Fischer Price) that he spins and spins and spins on the coffee table for long durations of time (30-45 minutes, sometimes more). His new favorite thing to do is turn the TV on and off, whether it be manually or with the remote. Crazy kid! He certainly is a charmer though - he will turn and squish his face up, and give the biggest smile to anyone who might tell him "NO"; he also does this to waitresses at any restaurant, regardless of his demeanor with his parents. A true ladies' man!
It is hard to believe my little baby is turning in to such a little BOY. I have said it every day since he was born: "this is a GREAT age!". Good thing, too....because....
