Baby has arrived!

My 8-Month Old

February 3, 2007

Jacob is 8 months old and is simply awesome!   This is the perfect age: he can sit up and play, but is not yet mobile via crawling.
He weighs around 22 lbs, and is about 29 inches long.

He continues to be the love of our lives - there is nothing in the world that compares to parenthood.  I wonder how I will ever love another child as much as him (I know all parents with only one child say that!).  Jake is such a happy baby - Mr. Socialble & Easy-Going.  We are SO blessed & humbled by him!

On the 21st of this month, we will travel with Jacob to Berlin, Germany, to visit my brother and SIL, Dan and Anna - Jacob's Godparents.  They haven't seen him since August!  We are all excited (and a bit anxious) about the trip!!!  Can you believe Baby J has his own passport?  HA!

Love & hugs to you all...

one big love

mmmm....I just went in to check on my sleeping little baby boy.  He is sooooooo sweet!  I stood by his crib for the longest time, my eyes welling up and tears running over.  My love for him is deeper than I ever thought it could be.  Being a mother is the best gift I have ever been given.

Thank you, God, for the gift of your son Jesus.

Thank you, God, for blessing us with our son, Jacob.

6 month Stats

19 lbs, 1.5 oz  = 75th percentile

27.75 inches = 90th percentile

18 inch head circumference = 90th percentile

Jake can still fit into his infant carseat (yeah!) for another 1.25 inches and 3 lbs.  He did amazing yesterday at his appointment - he didn't even cry for the first shot.  WOW!  By the 2nd and 3rd, he was hysterical, but easily consoled afterward.  Momma didn't even cry this time (and THAT is a feat in itself!  We are growing, Jake!!!!)

Jake met Santa today.  He was more interested in trying to pull his beard than anything else.  HAHA!

He loves Christmas tree lights, the Exersaucer, and has a Super Grip when it comes to hair, faces, lips, glasses, and just about anything that comes into his path.  I love to watch him watch everything, and take it all in.  He learns so much every day!

I am still in awe of this tiny little man; my heart grows with love for him with each moment that passes.  And despite all of the dirty diapers and late nights, there is still nothing better in the world than Parenthood!!!
