We have a Birth Day!

We officially have a Birth Day for this Little One:

 ~ Tuesday, May 23, 2006 ~

My doctor's office called back yesterday morning and said that originally Dr. Lacoste was hoping to schedule me for 5/26/06, but "that day was all booked up"; LOL, who would have known?!  So they moved us up to 5/23.  Oooookaaayyy!

Needless to say, I have been an emotional basketcase ever since....my poor husband!

Please continue to pray not only for a safe delivery, but also for peace, comfort, and less stress and anxiety for both Tim and me!  I know Tim is very busy with projects and deadlines at work; as well as finishing up things at the house....our minds are simply spinning!  Less than 3 weeks until we are parents!

AAAHHHH!!!!!!!

Last night I woke up 3-4 times b/c I did not feel well, and three times I re-entered the world of puking.  Ugghh..I have not missed that whatsoever ~  I think I had a bad salad from Wendy's, b/c today I feel much better, just tired from being up so much!  Needless to say, I think I am done eating green and red peppers forever... (I also got really sick on them at the beginning of my pregnancy, neat how everything comes full-circle, huh?!)

More updates to come following our appt. on 5/5/06

Baby Showers & May Flowers

Saturday, April 29th was my third and final Baby Shower, given by my mother-in-law, sister-in-laws, mom, and best friend Heidi.  It was a wonderful day of celebration, with lots of laughter, smiles, and a chocolate fountain!  YUMMY!  Every last detail was perfect; from the balloons to the chocolate bar favors!  It was wonderful to see a lot of my friends and family together, and to visit with each one of them.  My college roommate, Brandee, was in town for the weekend, as were my brothers and sister-in-laws from out of state.  We were all able to spend time together, though it all went by too fast!

We were so blessed to receive such wonderful gifts for Baby S at the shower; I think we are fairly together on most of the necessities, though I have a small list of things we still need to buy from both Target and Babies R US (i.e. bottles, pacifiers, & a breastpump - bet you wanted to know that!)

I have been busy the last few days with unpacking gifts, organizing, and doing Baby laundry.  I think we should be all set as far as clothing goes, at least for the first few weeks!

My poor feet and ankles, they are so fat!  Good thing I can still wear flip flops; most the time my feet look like sausages.  I try to lay down on my left side with my feet elevated like a "good patient" (as my mom would call me)....but I feel like I just have so much to do!

We will keep you posted as to a C-section day....still waiting to hear back from my doctor's office (we have been playing a serious game of phone tag).

Thank you for continuing to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, you are truly each a blessing to us!

Lots and lots of love & hugs to you all --

Beth, Tim & Baby S

3rd Ultrasound Update

First and foremost, thank you for keeping us in your prayers this week as we
had our 3rd and final ultrasound yesterday of this amazing little baby.
Baby S looks great - measuring approximately 6 lbs 3 oz right now, heartrate
is strong and *perfect* (just as God intended it to be!), Baby is active and
definitely running out of room in there!   I just love the fact that we have
been able to have so many appointments to see our child in such a special
way!   I am thankful to God that He has kept us all safe and healthy, and we
have enjoyed every moment of this pregnancy.  Life is truly a miracle!!

The ultrasound verified that the Placenta has not moved in the way it needs
to, in fact the tech said she would still call it Previa - therefore we will
be scheduling a C-Section with our doctor (probably for the end of May).  According to
the tech, as the Baby drops into the birth canal during labor, the placenta will thin out
and cover even more of the cervix, making it impossible for Baby to enter
the world in that way.  The safest way for both Baby and Mom will be
C-section.  The tech said she thought the C-section would be relatively
"easy" because the Placenta is in the back, the best placement for the
surgery.  We are certainly opting for the safest route, and have found peace
with this information.  We know ultimately that we are in the Hands of the
Great Physician
& that He will be guiding the hands of the doctors who will
be with us!

We will certainly let you know of the Birth Day when we have it scheduled -
according to my doctor at my last appointment, she was on call on Friday, May 26th.
Kinda neat that we will be able to pick our child's Birth Day!  :)  Memorial
Day weekend sounds great to us!  (Plus the fact that I get to go in there with my makeup on, my hair done, and my nails painted makes me happy!  Not to mention be able to plan when to take off of work, notify family, etc.....)

We also have a tremendous amount of support from family and friends alike, we are so grateful for all of your prayers, thoughts, and support - we truly could not be doing all of this without each and every single one of you!  Please continue to pray for a safe delivery and low anxiety - I'm nervous b/c other than having my wisdom teeth removed, I've never had major surgery before!

I have a doctor's appointment next Friday, 5/5/06 - we will certainly keep you posted to the events upcoming in the near future!

Love to all, enjoy the sunshine and upcoming weekend!

Spring Cleaning vs. Nesting

This weekend was great!  Saturday morning I woke up and after eating breakfast went into what's known as my "business mode" of cleaning.  This is a typical Saturday morning routine for me, especially if I haven't kept up on cleaning house during the week.  So I started with cleaning Sidney's bed, which was covered in black dog hair (I swear she must be molting!).  Then I began on cleaning our bedroom from top to bottom - I cleaned all of the bedding, including the dust ruffle, mattress pad, duvet, duvet cover, and pillow covers.  I vacuumed under the bed and behind the furniture.  I even cleaned the windows and screens.

Tim swears that I'm "nesting"; I simply told him that it's called Spring Cleaning - and since none of that cleaning has been done in months (I know the windows have not been cleaned in years!) I decided that with the energy I had, I would put it to good use.  LOL.

Sunday we spent some money at Target - I insisted on buying Baby socks - we have none!  So we bought some socks and onesies, plus mattress pads for the crib and our bed (I have been told to buy a waterproof pad, in case my water breaks during the night, plus we needed a new one anyway!)  After all the purchases, I came home and did some laundry.  Then...I started packing hospital bags!  (Okay, so maybe it IS nesting!).  I didn't get very far, as I need most of the items needed to pack for the next month (i.e. toothbrush, contact lens supplies, glasses, underwear, etc...)

Today "it" continued: I went to a resale store called Once-Upon-a-Child, and bought a bunch of 3-6 month clothing for dirt cheap. (I can't stop the overwhelming feeling that my Baby will be born and will not fit into any 0-3 month stuff!)  The clothes are in really good condition too, nothing my own laundry soap can't conquer!

I contacted HR to verify the packet of paperwork I need for FMLA and Maternity Leave.  I also scheduled a Hospital Tour for 5/7/06.  I am feeling like we're getting most of the "must-do-before-Baby-is-born" items taken care of.  Whew!

Please pray for sanity for my dear husband Tim; I know it's a lot to put up with a very pregnant me!
