We had our second ultrasound yesterday, which showed for sure that it’s a girl.(Above you can see a picture of my reaction – which is pure joy!)I can’t wait to go out and buy little white clothes with tiny pink flowers on them. Mitch was happy, but a little disappointed. Something about not having a boy to use as an excuse to go golfing.
Aside from all the rejoicing over her gender, we learned that she looks healthy and there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong. She was moving like crazy all day long yesterday, and was very uncooperative with the ultrasound tech - who was already irritated with us.Even though we left 1 ½ hours early to take what should have been a 30 minute trip to the midwives office, we were 15 minutes late and we were her last appointment. The drive was excruciating. We were so worried that we were going to miss it and have to tell everyone to wait another week (or more) until we could get in again. We had to take some creative shortcuts to get off the highway – which was a parking lot.The traffic was soooo horrible and it was cold and rainy and when Mitch dropped me off at the front of the building, I was in a puddle that went up to my ankle! But I didn’t care – I stepped in it anyway and ran in.
I don’t think the tech was very happy to have to wait for us, but due to some very good stalling by the receptionist, we managed to get there and convince her to do the scan. The midwife said that we would need to redo it because the tech didn’t get some good views (perhaps because she was not interested in taking her time due to our tardiness.)At any rate, we got the news we wanted – healthy girl, so we’re happy.Mitch videotaped the ultrasound, so we can see her moving, and hear her heart beating.

Today's the day!
We go to get our ultrasound today to prove once and for all that it's a......baby!
I'll post later today if I have time. Meantime, here's a picture of me and the baby.....finally!

Finding a name
This really has to be the most difficult part of having a baby! My friend Amber picked up this baby name book that has 20,001 names in it. I hate them all. :) The weird thing is that Mitch keeps reading it and asking me about tons of them - that he can't pronounce! I would think that if he can't pronounce it, that it wouldn't be considered. He's funny.
Today he finally purchased the new camera he's been going on and on about for months. At Christmas, Mitch got serious camera envy when he saw Jason's new camera. So he's been scouring the internet for the best deal, and today, by the grace of God, finally bought it. I don't have to hear about this camera store or that camera store, this lens or that lens, this bag, that tripod, which flash, etc. ANYMORE! I couldn't be happier. I keep telling him that he will officially be a full fledged Japanese person now that he has the big obnoxious camera.
I am glad though, that he will be able to take nice pictures of the baby. For what he paid for all that stuff, they'd better be spectacular!

I'm getting to it....
I really mean to take a picture and put it up so everyone can see the belly. I just keep forgetting! I'm so tired! By the time I get home and eat and relax, I'm already in my pajamas with a bandana on my head and I don't thing you all want to see me in my PJs!
