For those of you who may not know, but I was in the hospital again. This time it was only 5 days but I must say, 5 days too long. Same situation as before. My cervix was very thin, dilated 1 cm, and I was having contractions. Not too much to say about that adventure. Same ol, same ol. Glad to be home.
We made it to 30 weeks! :-) The next big milestone is 32 weeks. After that, I am not sure what the next step will be. My next doctors appointment will be June 3, which is Tuesday. Althought I am trying to be positive about everything but every time I go back to the doctors I end up back in the hospital. That just seems to be part of the process now. :-) The doctors reassured me that from here on out I will continue to have contractions. My uterus is measuring the same at what a full term singleton would measure. So my body is thinking that it is time to get these babies out. We still want to wait a few more weeks. We want to try and stay out of NICU as much as possible.
After the last visit to the doctors, Brian was measuring 2.13lbs and Molly was measuring 2.6lbs. Every time the babies get measured they seem to be gaining about 1lb every 2 weeks or so. The doctors said that for their gestation, they are great size babies. I am sure that when we visit the doctors on Tuesday, the babies will be close to 4lbs each.
I have been lucky enough to be able to feel them moving around for a while now. But, lately, I have been able to pick out specific body parts. It is fun to just sit and feel them moving and kicking around. Brian likes to kick is legs out and every time I touch one of his feet, he moves. Maybe he is ticklish. Molly likes to stick her bottom out and push on my right lung. That doesn't feel very good, but all I need to do is give her a little push down and she moves. That's when she starts kicking. She gets a little irritated because I moved her from her comfort zone. See what entertainment I have while on bedrest! ;-)
My work baby shower has been rescheduled for at least the 4th time. It is now officially on Monday, June 2nd. I can't wait. I am so looking forward to it.
