Yeah, I love your birth plan!  That's mine too. I always think it's silly when people have really precise birth plans because then you're disappointed when it doesn't go right or you make it difficult for the Docs to do the best job for you.

Hi!  I am so excited for you!  It is neat to hear that you two picked the name Luke!  Elijah's (my youngest) middle name is Luke, and we actually call him Luke quite a bit.  So we personally feel it is an excellent boy name -- not that we're partial or anything!

Mindy, I was just browsing some journals, and ran across yours...

Yeah for telecommuting!!!  I have a 5 1/2 month old son and was just granted more flexibility with my job, including telecommuting (God certainly answers prayers!!).  I am so happy for you; that is wonderful - there is nothing more precious in the world than being able to provide for your child AND spend time with him or her!  Seems to be the best of both worlds.  Congratulations!  Sorry to hear about your terrible encounters with "morning" sickness.  I was in the same boat this time last year (from weeks 7-18), but IT DOES GET BETTER!  Hang in there!

Next week would work out well for me if you need an extra hand with anything I could do.  It would bring me pleasure to help you.  I can't wait to see you.

I know we are complete strangers, but I was really glad to see you had another entry.  I've been checking here and there to no avial.  I just imagined you in bed feeling awful!  I really hope things get easier from this point.  As you know, it's not automatic, you will still have bad moments for the next few weeks, however and hopefully, they won't be nearly as bad as the beginning.  Keep your chin up preggy because it's all worth it when you hold your baby! Something tells me it's gonna be a boy.

I have been thinking the same thing....that Mindy might be carrying a boy, because I think I heard somewhere where the nausea and vomiting is sometimes worse with boy babies.  Something to do with male hormones or something.  Seems that I was more nauseous with my first (a boy) and less with the other two (girls).  Go figure.

Mindy, don't be afraid to ask for help.  This is practice for when the baby comes and you will probably have to ask for help with the baby.  It is a good thing to ask for help.  It is not a sign of weakness or helplessness.  It is a sign of maturity to know that you need your friends and family.

Hello, I just read your trip to the E.R. entry and wanted to tell you I went through the same thing.  (Not with this pregnancy)  My first pregnancy with my son was terrible.  It was the reason I swore to never have another.  Firstly, I’m glad you’re going to the doctor.  I made the mistake of thinking all this sickness is normal.  I dropped 20 pounds before going to the E.R.  I finally went due to vomiting blood.  It turned out I was throwing up so much, I ended up popping blood vessels in my esophagus.  They said along with me almost being dead, I was lucky to have not lost the baby.  I like you had to get hydrated!  It took a while that first round, but it turned out I needed it all the time.  They prescribed some drugs to help slow the vomiting and they did a little bit.  The sickness shouldn’t last the whole pregnancy.  It stopped for me around 14 – 16 weeks.  By that time I was doing my own I.V.s at home.  While in the hospital a nurse approached me, she touched my arm and said she had been sick for her pregnancy too.  She also said that the sicker the mom, the smarter the child.  She really touched me with that, and my son is 2 ½ years old, and we swear he is a genius.  I accidentally got pregnant again, and this pregnancy is not nearly as hard as my son.  Maybe it's because we are have a girl.  Who knows? Good luck with everything!
