Been MIA... Catch up posts - March2 2009
Today was an annoying day. I felt a bit off this morning after dropping the kids to school, and it eventually got to me around 11am... so Harry and I had a lay down on my bed... Harry watched ABC and I napped. I woke up feeling so hot and sick. Harrison was asleep by this stage and he was sweating like crazy too... so I stripped all his clothes off him and just left him in a nappy... the heat came so suddenly! It is gone now of course!

After picking Maddy up today I went and had the bloods done for my NT scan. 6 vials were taken... thankfully I am over my fear of needles now... it didn't hurt at all which is great.
On the radio I heard that Floraville Public School went into lock down this afternoon after there was an attempted abduction there! OMG, news like that makes me feel kinda glad we didn't get the house there! Although having said that, the Bi-Lo mall down the road from us got ram raided last night and an ATM destroyed... by the looks of it they didn't get any money from the ATM so the whole thing was just a waste and pure destruction. It was kinda surreal to see Police tape all around my usual entrance to the mall this morning and detectives taking pics... not really your usual Monday morning sight.

Well... I got my confirmation of my appointment letter for the scan yesterday and I managed to feel a teency bit relieved because it will only cost me $145, and I can get back some from Medicare.... phew!

Tashie, you're so right... they're crazy with the prices... especially since we're told we HAVE to get these scans, no real say in it (well, it is like that for me anyway). It would all be so much simpiler if I was entitled to a HCC... then they would be free! I don't mind paying for them, but when they are OTT prices, and $250 is OTT in my opinion, it makes me annoyed. With Harrison, I remember paying for the initial scan, and all the others were bulk billed.

Anyway... I got a huge headache yesterday that carried on until I eventually went to bed, and I have woken with it again today. Urgh it SUCKS! I know it's not due to dehydration because I am definitely hydrated enough, I have been drinking about 2.5lts a day... I guess it could be my time for AF or something and that's why there is a headache. Urgh. Anyway, I promised Harrison I would take him to see Raggs (or whatever they're called) today at Westfield... oh yay! Screaming kids and load dog characters on stage are exactly what I feel like enduring whilst I have a headache. Sometimes I need to think before making these promises... he knows exactly what I am talking about too 'cause he got his sandals, put them on and grabbed my shoes for me. He knows we've got to go soon.
I must remember to wear my seabands today. I forgot them last night and felt sick whilst out shopping.

Argh! I just tried to book in for my NT scan. None of the places I have been given the referral to can fit me in, and then I found somewhere so now I need a whole new referral... and I couldn't hear the woman properly because the background noise where she was drowned her voice out but I swear it sounded like she said it will cost $445!!! Even though I have a history. So of course I had a sooky moment. I just wish I didn't have to go through all these freaking scans... they don't do anything to reassure me, they just stress me out. I won't calm down or be reassured until this baby is born breathing into my arms.

Ok, sook & vent over now... I'm going to watch some tragic TV and wait for my washing to finish.

Rob and I have been discussing Harrison getting a big boy's bed. At the moment he is still in his cot, but obviously that is gonna go to Bumpty when s/he gets here. I'm thinking about the type of bed I want to get Harrison. Firstly he is going into a toddler bed, a Car's one because I want to go a little OTT in decorating his room for him so he doesn't feel tossed out and then replaced by a baby if that makes sense? So he will use his cot mattress for that, but we also want to get him a real bed too.
I am wondering if it is crazy to get a double bed for a toddler? Rob thinks it is a good idea, and I can see his point, but I am stuck in the mindset that little kids should have single/king single beds. James & Maddy had bunks, and then when they stopped sharing a room they had king singles. Maddy got her double bed last year.
Rob thinks that a double bed makes sense, we already have all the linen for doubles, and we have none for singles. When we have people come to stay, there will be an extra bed then.
Oh dilemma... which to eventually buy?! lol
