Hospital support
Aaron and I had a midwife appt this morning with Saras. She said that the baby is really really low and firmly nestled in, so that's great still and she also said that he/she has a nice anterior position, which is also reassuring. She took another sample of my blood to send to the lab for testing and we got copies of my latest paperwork to take to the office when we meet with Dr. Byrd tomorrow. I'm also going to start having ultrasounds weekly to monitor the baby's health as we have passed our due date. That should be interesting. We could find out the gender of the baby if we wanted to, I guess, but Aaron and I talked about it on the way home and we both decided that if we've waited this long, we might as well wait until birth.

Saras was very supportive and encouraging and said that she understands that I'm dissipointed and that she will be beside me the whole way to encourage, support and help me as we go. It is reassuring to have her there. I am also hoping that tomorrow's meeting with Dr. Byrd will help me feel more secure. The more I get to know her and understand how she works, the more stable I will feel.

Mama told me a day or two ago to have the baby wait another week. She's tapping trees for maple syrup and I guess the sap flow is great this year. She got her first quart of syrup and said that it's pure gold, like honey. She said that if Baby holds off, they'll get a great batch. No problem, still no signs of labor in any way, so I think we have an April baby on our hands.

One of the issues that we have to discuss with Dr. Byrd is induction. She will likely want to induce because I am overdue and I am not a big fan of induction. I'd rather let the baby develop naturally and let us know when he/she is ready. Hopefully, we'll be able to stave her off a bit and let Baby do his/her thing.
