Pregnancy Journal

Last night while shopping for Niko's school clothes I decided to FINALLY buy Lucca a baby doll. it was a small girl newborn w/a hat and blankie. I got home and walked in with it behind my back and said "Lucca... mommy bought you a present. Do you want to see what I have?"

She walks over and holds out her arms and I give her the baby... she just looks at it and smiles. She holds the baby on her shoulder next to her face and just rocks. Then she walks it to the table sets it down and comes over and gives me a big hug and kiss!

AWWWW... Melt my heart. Is she ready to be a big sis or what?

Lucca, Lucca ! My sweet “baby girl”! We can’t believe how fast your growing up. It’s amazing to watch you explore and discover new things. I love to silently watch you play w/your toys or study the wind blowing the trees. You have the most delightful little spirit.

 Your such a joyfully girl! You love to laugh. I think it’s your favorite thing. Well that and screaming! I high pitch horror film scream. L There are so many things I want to remember and cherish about your babyhood. Sometimes I choke back tears because I know I’m unable to hold on to all the memories from those wonderful times. But I’m blessed that those memories come back in flashes from both of my beautiful kids. Thank God for pictures and for journals!

In the spirit of holding on to moments I want to list some of my favorite baby things about Lucca .

She’s no pushover! I love that about her. She was born w/loads of spunk.Yeah she’ll flash a sweet smile, a little giggle, but piss the girl off and she’ll let you know.

 She’s a cuddlebug. She loves to be held (a 25lb challenge currently) She likes to be tickled and kissed. At 13 mo. she started puckering to kiss instead of the full mouth kiss babies usually do. She can’t quite blow a kiss but she pucker up at people if we tell her to.

She likes to run circles around our house. 13mo. She’s also started climbing on our table! J Very agile girl, doesn’t sit still unless it’s to cuddle!

When she gets up in the mornings she turns her Monkey mobile on and will talk to the monkeys for 10 min. or so before she starts yelling for us. When we do go into get her she hands us her blanket(s). She won’t get out of the crib w/out her blankie. She lays on our shoulder w/ her blankie another 5/10 min. before she’s totally up! My favorite time!

 Lucca loves her blankie. It’s definitely her security. When she’s tired or upset she’s gotta have her blankie. If there’s more than one blankie around even better! It’s our secret weapon when she’s away from home.

 At 14 mo. She’s recently discovered a whistle on my keychain. And gets so proud when she blows the whistle. A was making a clicking noise w/ my tounge the other day. She stared at me trying to figure out what I was doing… the very next day she clicked hers to and looked at me and laughed.

Ah… she’s the cutest! I’m sure I’ll think of more to add.

BTW… Lucca is going to be a big sister. Our new journal is carriemariox3.
