Hallelujiah, the baby is here! Joy Noelle Voeltz was born Monday, March 19, 2008 at 9:25 a.m. She weighed 8lbs 3oz. and was 19.5 inches in length. She was nothing like textbook, sending me through only 5 hours of labor for a first child. I arrived at 7cm, the doctor showed up at 9cm, and was much bigger than expected. I was told 6.5lbs likely maybe 7 or so. The doctor wondered where I hid her all this time. By Thursday morning, I had lost 13lbs (and 17 was the max I could have gained based on dates, probably less). She is really good at feeding, surprising me. She is definitely Daddy's girl as I predicted and I am really enjoying him being home most of this week. I am moving and acting really well, even after all the tearing... oh, and did I mention after all that I ended up going all natural?! She has put herself on somewhat of a decent schedule we are adjusting to pretty decently. All in all, we feel totally blessed and love love love our little girl! Oh, and though we'd show her off on here for now... :)

Finally a write...
I read somewhere recently that the 9th month really is labor month. You labor all month. Emotions are everywhere, you play the waiting game, you keep findin things to do or you sit around praying that cute little baby will finally decide to make her appearance.. don't get me wrong, I'm not stupid. While I hope every little move may be her coming, I know better. The doctor says she is unlikely to make her appearance early as she is a first, that and not bein dialated as of a week ago doesn't help... of course, in my family, all but my sister were late (and they thought she was initially), so I am trying to relax and not be too anxious... being sick with that nasty cold kept me "busy" or at least occupied this past week but I admit I go pretty crazy pretty fast and David is getting really stressed out with work... he wants a change but right now, I just wanna be ready for our little girl and not working on extra things on top of what is coming. I think Joy Joy coming will be good for her daddy... I think he really needs her right now. My Mr. relaxed and feel-good soon-to-be-daddy from several weeks ago has pretty much disappeared... He has been so good. Monday and Tuesday he kept an eye on me and helped me get rest throuh the worst days of the cold while prepping the room as much as possible. He has been amazing and I really do look forward to having our Joy Joy to complete our family for right now... sigh... I'm all over the place... we're heading toward the due date...

Good appt.
So today while shopping over the hill for baby, the drs office called and moved UP my appt, and feeling worse than yesterday, I was not thrilled. However, we got th best glider/ottoman set for our money than we could (and it was in stock!) and a few things, including a few cute outfits (one says she loves ME, not daddy like the rest-lol). We realized we will have to go back tomorrow since I wasn't fully ready to make all the decisions and today I would run a few other necessary errands on my own if I could.... really tired but... at the dr (after waiting forever), even though I had not dialated, baby's head had definitely dropped... yay! Glad to be making progress and making some decisions. Currently resting, nothing wrong really just completely lethargic and I still feel some soreness in my throat... overall, pretty good... for now at least (I am over 38 weeks pregnant)... out for now,

"Knick-knack-paddy-whack" Haha, I remember that rhyme... I just ran across it on a forum... baby keeps a'poundin' down there... (tmi? - eh, who cares, if you are reading this, you need to get past it)... I was supposed to have an appt. yesterday but it got postponed 'til tomorrow because somebody was havin' a baby (go figure!)... 38 weeks today though... oh, and am I feeling it... its that period of time they get you all hyped up about... 2 weeks before throuh 2 weeks after... like its magic or something... uh huh, no... i mean, i get it, high percentage of babies actually are born during this time frame... but still, it ain't no magic... relaxing at my parents... playing chauffeur today... i am so lookin forward to baby... :) okay, so can't think of anything to say... ahhh, FOGGGG!!!
