Catch Up

I knew with this pregnancy I wouldn't be able to document as much as I did with Cameron. It's time consuming having a 2 and half year old, going to grad school, and working full-time...not to mention the house and dogs and of course the much neglected hubby. But here I am with some updates!

We found out on December 29th that we will be adding a little girl to our family! The doctor visit was much anticipated by many. I thought Brandon was going to die from anticipation while we sat in the waiting room to be called back. The ultrasound was first, so we really didn't have to wait long. The ultrasound tech told us she'd been handing out girls all day. I told her she was probably about to hand out another. My mommy's intuition is right on with this baby gender thing, lol. When she got to the good part, I studied the screen like a mad woman trying to see if there was a boy part. Of course, there wasn't!!! She said "I guess today is the day for girls!" Brandon's face was priceless. We were both grinning from ear to ear and I started talking 90 to nothing. We were floating  on cloud 9 from there on out.

We called Brandon's parents after we grabbed some dinner at our favorite restaurant and told his mom she is finally getting her a girl. Of course she was over the moon! It took all we had to keep the secret as we drove the 30 minutes to my parents to pick up Cameron. We had everyone pretty convinced we were having another boy. When we got there I handed Amy the ultrasound pics and she started screaming "It's A GIRL!!!!" Katie started shaking and crying and wouldn't let go of me. My parents were pretty much speechless, lol.

Her name is Lilly Abigail and we are now counting down the weeks to May 15!

Almost Time

I'm so excited that in just 19 days we will find out if we are having a boy or a girl! Please, baby, cooperate! It will be an awesome New Year's present.

My last doctor's appointment was Dec. 3. I've only gained 2 pounds since the last appointment, which is great since I gained 9 between it and the first appointment. I hate the fact that I'm only 10 pounds away from my full term weight with Cameron and I have 22 weeks to go. I feel like a lug.

Besides that the baby's heartbeat was great. Dr. L, had no trouble finding it. I did mention the weird heart palpitations I've been having and she cut me off from caffeine completely and wants to schedule me an appointment with a cardiologist. After cutting out my caffeine and decreasing my sodium...not to mention finishing my first semester of grad school, they've seemed to happen less. They're still there, but they're not as pronounced as they were.

As of right now, I feel very pregnant. It's almost time to start shopping for baby stuff!

Totally Slacking

Here's my once a month posting. Everything has gotten crazier around our house. Hopefully as this semester winds down, things will settle down at least for a few weeks.

I had my 2nd prenatal appointment Friday, October 30. The baby still seems to be doing great. The heartbeat was 160 bpm. I have gained about 11 pounds in 12 weeks. Most of that was giving into every fast food craving I had. I'm starting to feel normal again, so I don't HAVE to eat what I want at that very moment. Today is my 3rd day without fast food! That's a record lately, sadly. Hopefully I can hold out until Friday and continue doing a once a week treat.

Halloween was fun. We had a kiddy party for Cam Friday night and trick-or-treated Saturday. He was an ER doctor. It took alot to convince him to wear his costume, lol, but he relented. I was feeling nostalgic that this is his last Halloween with us all to himself. I have so many mixed feelings about my baby boy being a big brother. He will be almost 3 when this baby is born, so he's had his time, but I can't picture him not being the baby anymore:-). Hopefully he's a GREAT big bro!
