It's 2008.  I can't believe it.  The year Conner was born in is already over.  Wow how time flies!  He is 9 months old and doing great.  Back in the beginning of December he started pulling himself up on things.  Fun but nerve wracking because you know he'll fall over, it's just a matter of when.  When this started Matt and I moved his crib mattress down 3 notches and then later that night her promptly decided to fling himself out of it.  I put him in his crib ready to let him cry himself to sleep, I just walked into the living room when BAM.  My heart dropped.  I went running in his room and there is he lying on the floor.  He seemed fine.  The second I picked him up he stopped crying.  He face seemed to say "Geez Mom, is this what I have to do to get you to come play with me."  Yikes.  So his matress is practically on the floor now.

He had a great Christmas.  He was very spoiled by our family.  It looks like Toys R Us puked in our basement.  Kelly was home for a week and spoiled him rotten.  Wish she could see him more.  We got him the fisher price laugh and learn kitchen and he seems to love it.  Although it sings catchy yet annoying songs that get stuck in our heads.  All day Matt and I are wondering around singing "Counting, counting, counting is so fun...count with me we'll start with number 1...1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 100000000000...wasn't that the BEST, I'd love to count again."  Eek!

He's very very active.  You can't take your eye off him for a second or he's gone.  He climbs stairs like a champ.  We had to put a gate at the bottom of our basement stairs.  He's constantly pulling himself up, chasing his ball and crawling all around.  He had a few boo-boo's this week.  He was chasing his ball and it bounced off the wall and started going the other direction.  So he tried to change his path quickly, his arm gave out and he did a header into Dixie's bone.  He's scratched up his eye and his nose just before we took him to the doctor.  "Really doc, we don't beat him, he just happened to fall an hour before we brought him in."  Then yesterday he tried to pull himself up on a shelf that is obviously not sturdy (Yea, still need to baby proof lots I guess) and it fell over.  Cut himself underneathe the other eye.  Matt tells me he needs to learn to be tough!

He had his 9 month check up on Tuesday.  He weighs 18 lbs 12 oz and is 30 1/4 inches long.  He's in the 25th percentile for weight and 90th for length.  At least he's back on it now.  She said he's perfect and we're doing a great job.  We do need to teach him to put himself to sleep so that's been fun.  He's been great at night.  Just fusses a little and then goes right to sleep.  Nap time is the bad part.  Although Wednesday he cried for an hour and then yesterday only 20 minutes.  So hopefully it'll get easier.  But he is with my mom today and she lays down with him to get him to nap....niiiiiiice.  So any progress that was made Grams will un-do.  She can't stand to hear him cry.  ;-)  Which I understand. 

Well, Conner is doing good, we're doing good.  In 2 1/2 months he'll be one.  I can not believe that.  When we left the doctor's office the lady said "Making his one year appointment already, I can't believe it.  It seems like you just brought him in when he was fresh out of the oven."  Sniff...Sniff....

Well, I'm putting off writing a paper and figured what better way to do that than to add an entry.  Plus it's been almost two months again.  School is done in 2 weeks so I'm hopefully going to add some more then. 

Lots have been going on since my last entry.  We had Conner's 6 month appointment on October 16th.  He weighed 16 lbs 11 oz and was 26 inches.  He is in the 50th percentile for weight and not even ON the charts for lenght.  But I guess we all expected that.  His parents are tall.  He got 4 shots then and didn't really like it.  I'm glad he won't have to get any more until he's a year.  He got his second tooth on the bottom on October 13th and in the last two weeks both of his top teeth came through.  He grinds his teeth now...nice.  It's the worst noise ever! 

He was going through a spurt where he did not want to sleep through the night.  It was terrible!  He got a bad cold and we let him sleep with use for about 5 nights in a row because he would wake up so congested and coughing.  And he got used to being in our bed reeeeeeally quickly.  I don't want him sleeping in our bed so we had to break that.  It took us about a week of bad sleeping, but he's doing really good again.  On Friday he spent the night and my parents and he has his grandma wrapped around his little finger.  They said he was up a lot, but last night he slept great for us...so who knows.  They did put a new crib toy on his crib and he hit that in the middle of the night.  So it was singing and light up his crib.  That could have something to do with him being awake...I don't know though???

He's 8 months old and will be almost 9 for his first Christmas.  I'm so excited for this.  Christmas has always been special, but I just can't get over how different it will be.  I've already bought him a few toys.  That's be probably be all he'll get from us because he's spoiled and has lots of family to love him.  That's all he needs.  Can't wait for that!!

My cousin found out that he girlfriend is pregnant and they're expecting a baby girl next April.  She'll be a year older than Conner and Marissa so that's very exciting!  It's crazy how our family is growing.

So yea, Conner is doing great!  We love him to death and I'm pretty sure he's the world's cutest baby!!!  Till next time...it'll probably be two months and that'll be here before you know it!

Holy Moly...it's almost been 2 months since I've written in here.  What happened??  Well, I got a journal entry from Lisa...Lisa, do I know you?  Trying to figure out if maybe you just read my journal or if I know a Lisa?  Anyway, thanks for the kick in the butt to get back on here.  I'm going to be so thankful later, I'm just so busy right now.

Anyway, Conner is doing SO great.  He is getting very big.  He weighs 16 lbs 11 oz now and has his first tooth already!  It came through last Monday, September 24th.  I'm sure the other bottom one will be coming up any second!  He laughs all the time and has started putting sounds together..."dadadadada" instead of just cooing.  He didn't have an "official" 6 month birthday, which kind of sucked.  He was born March 31...which would put his 6 month birthday on September 31st...no such date.  So we celebrated on Sunday the 30th.  He's not sitting up on his own yet, I don't know if he will for a while, he's so long and skinny.  Hmmm....any other firsts for him????  He spent an entire week up at Aunt Bonnie's cottage.  I stayed about 5 days and he spent the other two with my parents.  And, I finally got his pictures taken at Penney's.  Just in time to get them done again for 6 months.  Oh well, can't ever have enough pictures.

I did one of my first major mom things yesterday.  I was trying to get ready to meet some friends for lunch, and had just changed Conner into a cute outfit.  Just after his bottle, he barfed (of course) and I put my HAND out and caught it.  NASTY.  But I didn't want it to get on his outfit so he would need to be changed.  Yea...total mom for you. 

He's eating solids more now.  He loves loves loves pears and applesauce.  Those are the only two things I've been about to find he likes.  We've tried peaches, green beans, sweat potatoes and carrots, not wild about any.  Well, that's my update for now.  Promise it won't be as long next time!  ;-)  Till then....

Conner had his 4 month check up last Friday and the doctor said he's doing great!  He weighs 14 lbs 4 oz...huge boy!!!  And he's 25 3/4 inches long.  He is hitting all the milestones he should be and looks great.  He rolls over like its nothing now.  He still has trouble getting back from his belly to his back but he does it once in a while.  He had to get 4 shots...I hate that!!  He hates it too.  He was pretty brave though.  As soon as he got in the car he feel asleep and slept for a couple hours.  And the two nights after his shots he slept from 8-8, so that was awesome!  He's been a little fussy and spitting up a lot, so I asked her about teething or if we should change his formula.  She said she could feel the buds under his gums, but it could still be a few months before anything pops through.  And she wanted me to change his formula to soy, so we tried that.  But he hates it!!  He won't eat it more than 2 feedings in a row and everytime we give it to him it gives him diarrhea and a rash on his face.  So we won't be doing that anymore.  I need to call her and see what else she suggests.  Also, she wants me to start him on solids.  I'm a little leary of that since he's only 4 months, I'm going to wait a few more weeks, and we'll probably do that when he's 5 months.  I can't wait to see how he reacts!!
