I FINALLY went in yest. for the 2nd time, after 8 long wks. All they did was check the heart rate (good 150-160's) and measure the uterus (almost to bellybutton, but I can't see anything yet!). It was neat to hear how the OB had to move the doppler a little because the baby was moving around. I still haven't felt movement but it's normal not to before 18-20 wks. so I have to be patient. I scheduled the big ultrasound for Christmas Eve at 11:30. However, the OB said the techn won't say anything during it expect the sex. You have to wait till the 22nd wk appt for get any results.

Everything's going well, just some neck +back pain that I've usually had, but will get worse w/ preg. I expect I won't show till at least sometime in Jan and am holding off telling people + students I teach @ work.

Now I'm past 12 wks and have told family + friends. Most guessed right away what it was when I said I had news. They were all excited of course. I got "bella bands" but don't need them yet. Still fit fine in most pants. Have lost a total of 7 lbs. I guess I'll call the ob in a few wks if it continues or I don't gain any. I'm sure it's ok until the growth happens in the 2nd trim. I haven't done anything different in my diet. More fat's just being burned.

I'll get the flu shot tomorrow even tho I'm wary of being injected w/ a virus. It's still free this last day. That's it for now.
