Week 23 Well, work is finally underway in the nursery. YAY! However, it's not the fun kind of work. Josh has a ton of prep work to do on the walls thanks to some giant holes left by some old shelves and many popping drywall nails. He's up for the challenge, though, and has already completed the first round. We've started ordering some cute, CUTE decor type stuff and need to figure out the closet organization...but other than that, we're on our way.
I bought our first baby items this past weekend...some super sweet things from Gymboree (thank you, "SALE"). My favorite is a little bodysuit with an embroidered baby tiger (or some sort of cat) on it and it's saying "Grrrr" :) Cute, huh? Anyway, that was a lot of fun for me.
I've been feeling the baby a bit more, mostly just after I eat. I'm definitely not used to it yet and am still enjoying the newness of it all.
Josh's sister, DeeDee, gave us these awesome CDs of baby lullabyes...we've been playing them almost every night so that our little one gets familiar with them...the hope here being that hearing them after he's born will put him out like a light ;-) I'm sure that won't work...but at least they will be familiar sounds. We also got a box of old baby books from my parents basement and have been reading to him periodically so that he gets used to our voices.
We're still experimenting with names, calling him one thing for a couple of weeks and then changing it up to something else to see if anything feels right. Nothing concrete just yet...but even when we do settle on something, we'll probably keep that private until he arrives.
We have another Dr.s appointment on Thursday just to check for measurements and to hear the heartbeat. I'll post with another status after...
Thanks to everyone who posted in the guestbook and/or who have been checking in our progress every now and then. We really appreciate your support and love...Mmmmmpwah! (kisses to you all). |
