Tonight is NYE and we are so excited to bring in the new year. 2008 is going to be the start to some new beginnings in our family. We are going to our families house to ring in the New Year with some Mexicn food and games. I'll be indulging in some nice sparkling cider when the clock strikes midnight.
Today and a little bit last night I felt some twinges and cramping on and off. To me that just means that something is for sure going on inside. Derrick enjoys touching my belly too. We are both trying to take this in one day at a time, we are so excited. We can't wait for our ultrasound on the 14th of Jan.

Exciting Things Are About To Happen 28 Dec 07 -
Today I got my first two pregnancy books and I can't wait to start reading. Sarah gave me "What to Expect when your Expecting" and a women from work, Kelly gave me "Your Pregnancy Week by Week". I can't wait for the many changes that are about to occur in our lives. I've waited so long for this moment, I want to enjoy every second of every day!
2007-12-31 (5 weeks)
Holding Our Breathe ... 28 Dec 07-
I had my second dose of blood work taken at 0715 and boy were we I nervous ... again. I left the lab and went back to work, waiting patiently for that call. When the clock hit 0900 an my nurse still hadn't called I decided to call her because I was dying with anxiety inside. Of course she was just busy and didn't have a chance to call me. So she looked in the system and my HCG level had gone from 69 to 192!!! Needless to say Derrick and I were thrilled and just beside ourself. It looks like this is really happening, it is our time. Our first ultrasound is going to be Jan 14. We can't wait to see how many babies are inside.
With our numbers rising as much as they did, Derrick and I decided it was time to share our news with those that are near and dear to our hearts, our family and friends. We will be sure to share our news with everyone else when we are further along.
I can't wait to hear how excited our family and friends are going to be. This news has been a long time in the making, we are so excited, yet cautious.
2007-12-27 (4 weeks)
The Day That Changed Our Lives 26 Dec 07-
Today is the big day! I went to the lab around 0715 this morning and gave my blood work, hoping it contained the good news we've been longing to hear for the past 3 yrs. My "personal" lab tech Connie wasn't in so I tried not to take that as a bad sign. But 10 minutes later I was done, on my way out the door when I started to cry as I walked down the hall from the lab to my car, I just knew that this had to be it, our time.
I got home around 0800 and Derrick got home from his mid night shift shortly after. We sat together on the couch watching T.V. drinking hot tea (caffeine free of course) waiting for the phone to ring. Well, at 0838 on Dec 26, 2007 our lives changed forever. It was Jackie my nurse calling to tell us that we are "pregnant", our HCG hormone was at 69. Not to bad, but I need to go back into the lab for more blood work on the Friday, Dec 28. Keeping all of our faith in the Lord that are numbers will be higher and everything will continue to progress the way we'd hope for.
