Baby has arrived!

Nursery

This past weekend I guess you could say I was bit my the "nesting" bug.  I started to slowly put together our temporary nursery.  It took me about 5-6 days to get everything washed, folded and somewhat sorted out.  We have a lot of things (swing, bouncing seat, etc) that will just stay boxed until we arrive in Georgia because the baby will not be old enough to use them before we move.  I had so much fun playing with all the baby gadgets and I was loving the tiny clothes and blankets.  I can't really believe that soon Derrick and I will have a baby of our own.  I'm so excited, nervous and scared all at the same time.  Once Derrick gets home I know he will calm me down and we will wait together for our baby to come.

*I've posted some nursery pics in the photo album - Enjoy!

33Wks Hurts

Today is 33 wks and I just woke up ... already a swollen mess.  It isn't even 630am and my fingers are chunky and stiff.  My elephant legs are a different story; I just put my socks on and already not even 10 mins later I've got an indent from where they are sitting on my ankles.  Looks like today is going to be very uncomfortable already?  I'll go and pick up my items needed for my jug-o-urine today so hopefully we can figure out why I'm swelling way more than everyone thinks I should be.  Man I wish I could just wear house slippers to work. Maybe I should ask about that?

Last night I was reading a bedtime story to my baby and the cutest thing ever happened. He or she started moving all over the place once I got into the book.  I was so excited because usally the baby is getting ready for bed and not too active during story time. I just know he/she was listening last night and enjoying the story as much as I was enjoying he/she moving around while I was reading to them.  Not too much longer, less that 8 wks and I'll be a mom.

Uncomfortable @ 32 wks

As I'm just sitting here I find myself to be out of breathe.  It is amazing to me that I've got this little person inside of me taking up all of my room and causing me discomfort. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaing one bit just interested at what actually is going on inside of my body.  Wierd to think about that is for sure.

Well I had another routine OB appointment yesterday and it seems things may be starting to pick up.  My blood pressure yet again was elevated both times they took it, my feet and ankles are starting to look like elephant legs and I gained about 7.5 pounds in less than 2 wks.  So we are being cautious.  I'll have another follow up appointment next week and this weekend I get to enjoy the joys of a jug-o-urine.  If you don't know about the protein in your urine test, you should google it, it is my favorite!  All kidding aside, they are hoping that my jug-o-urine doesn't come back positive for me having protein in my urine.  If so then I may be looking at more than just my gestational hypertension, more like preeclampsia. But no worries, God is watching over us and we will cross whatever bridges we need to.

I think Grandma Hatfield has started looking at purchasing her plane ticket for the big event.  I can't hardly believe we are about 2 months away from our big day (hey, that rhymed-lol).

All is well other than my OB appointment, Derrick is still gone and we are missing him like crazy.  I have so much time on my hands now it is a bit ridiculous.  Oh well, I'm nesting quite nicely.

Almost 31 Wks and its Summer time

So being pregnant in the summer has it's good sides and bad.  The good thing is that I can get away with being chunky in a bathing suit.  Yep, that was me this past weekend.  Although the bathing suit is super cute I still feel super big. But oh well, I am big and all for good reasons.  The bad side is that I'm a swollen balloon all day, everyday.  There isn't enough "elevating the feet" in this world for these cankle calves to go away.  Luckily for me it doesn't hurt, it just looks hideous.  So now that Derrick is gone who is going to volunteer to rub my cankle calves?

I hope you were able to follow along and understand that I've been busy. I'm sorry to have not posted in sometime but now that I'm caught up and most of the hustle and bustle of the summer is over with, I'll have more time, I promise.

~Happy 4th of July ... Enjoy yourself and be safe~
