What an amazing, well written, interesting story. Thank you so much for sharing all the little details that every woman really needs to hear but never does.
I am also a mother of twins, although I never had the complications you had in the weeks prior to your boys' actual birth. My babies were born in the 39th week and weighed 6 and 7 pounds. Your detailed descriptions of your C-section and the preparation beforehand, brought back memories of my own that I would never had remembered had I not read your birth story. My twin girls are now almost 26 years old and I have two grandchildren and another on the way.
Now you may be asking yourself,, "why on earth is some old lady reading baby journals? LOL" Well first off, let me tell you, I am not an old lady. I am 46 years old and I began reading these baby journals when two of my daughters ( I have 3) were pregnant at the same time. I LOVED being pregnant when I was having my children and I find reading these journals so fun and interesting. If I had this vehicle of communication available to me back then, I would definitely have been journaling.
I'm so happy that your precious babies are now home with you. I know how difficult it can be to go through this very very tiring time, but just hang in there a little while longer and everything will start to smooth out. You'll soon be back in your bedroom and your babies will be sleeping through the night. Even if it feels like an eternity, in retrospect, it's never really as long as it seems.
I hope you keep journaling and keep us updated on how your children are doing, and how you and your husband are coping. One day your daughter will really benefit by reading this when she is expecting her own children. I wish I had been able to share something like this with my daughters.
May God continue to bless you as He has already,
~J~
