Baby has arrived!

Pregnancy Journal

Looking forward to Christmas

I'm definitely much better now, my sore throat has all but gone and I am now able to swallow and enjoy my food! Have also not suffered anymore with horrible stretching pains, so am more comfortable in that department too!

I have developed 'pregnancy nose' and am finding certain smells make me want to heave! For instance the smell of the Christmas tree, the smell of Archie and Barry's clothes after they'd come back from his mums and the pong of rotting, dirty nappies (although  lets face it, the latter were never particularly pleasant!).

Am researching baby carriers and have decided on 2 brands - Hug-a-bub and Closer. I'm not sure which one I'll plump for yet, although I'm slightly more swayed towards the Closer.

Mood: Happy, looking forward to Christmas!

Definitely better!

I woke up this morning feeling much better after a refreshing nights sleep. I think the thought of only one more day at school helped too!

Have had a good day - I can't believe how many Christmas presents Archie has got from all my friends at school - he's a lucky boy! I'm finding it more and more difficult to keep my pregnancy a secret now with the folks at work, I'm so used to sharing with them! Nevermind, I'll probably tell them after Christmas when I'm 6 or 7 weeks along!

A little sickness from 3pm to about 5ish.

Mood: Much, much happier!

On the mend?!

I went to the doctors today about my sore throat and then said I was pregnant. She took one look at me and said 'Good news or bad news?'. How could she say that? What did she think I was? A 15 year old Leominster floosie? Anyway, she started going on about first pregnancies before I interrupted and said 'Second!'. She shut up about babies and pregnancy after that!! I didn't go to the docs about being pregnant, I went because I had a sore throat - I just thought it would help with any medication if she knew my condition!

Any road, She says I can take paracetamol and has prescribed antibiotics if it doesn't calm down in a couple of days. Am reluctant to use them unless I REALLY need to!

Mood: Much better after a bad start!

Feeling lousy!

Can't believe I'm nearly 5 weeks pregnant and suffering - not with pregnancy symptoms but with the worst sore throat EVER. I can hardly swallow and it's killing me! On a brighter note, I've had no sickness today and those horrible tight stretching pains in my abdomen have lessened!

Archie has been an absolute devil today - really perfecting his toddler tantrums (19 months). He hasn't been this bad since he had colic at three months (Oh my God - we're going to do that all again....).

Mood: Ill and suffering an immense sense of humour failure!
