hospital
On Friday, March 24th I went into the hospital. Friday morning at 7:50am I couldn't sleep and my nose was stopped up. So I propped my pillows so I could breathe better. Well, I could breathe better but then I had trouble swallowing. My throat felt tight and so I took a drink of water but it was still hard to swallow. So I unpropped my pillows so I could lay flat. I was able to swallow better finally. A few minutes later the right side of my face by my mouth went numb and tingly. So I got up and looked in the mirror and my mouth wasn't drooping. A couple minutes later my face went back to normal. Then my thumb and index finger on my right hand went numb and tingly. Then it eventually went into the other fingers and then the whole hand. That lasted a couple of minutes. After that I called Darrell but I got his voicemail so I left a message. I noticed that I had to think really hard to say what I wanted to. Darrell called me back a couple minutes later. I told him what happened and he said he'd call me back later to check on me. A half hour later I called Darrell back but I noticed while I was talking to him I had trouble saying my words the right way. Darrell said he was coming home. Then I called my mom who called my doctor and then talked to me practically the whole time until Darrell got home. So anyway the doctors ran a bunch of tests and found nothing so far. I have a blood test that the results won't be in for 1-2 weeks. That will tell us if I have a clotting factor. If I do I'll have to be on blood thinners. Basically the doctors say I had a transient ischemic attack (mini stroke). There was no permanent damage done to my brain or any of my functions. Pregnant women are at risk for having t.i.a. but not all women get it. Right now I'm on 1 baby aspirin a day until the blood test results come in. Tomorrow I see my ob/gyn and then I have to make an appointment to see my primary care physician and a neurologist both for this week for a follow up. Also I have a chance of this happening to me again and then again it may never happen to me again. So I'm hoping I can get through this pregnancy and deliver my baby girl and hope that she's healthy. So far her hearts still beating and she's still kicking me. I was in the hospital until around 6pm yesterday.

It's A Girl!
I thought for sure I was having a boy but it's a girl. I'm so happy! I didn't care either way if it was a boy or a girl just as long as it's healthy. She weighs 3/4 of a pound. Everything looked normal in my ultrasound and the tech was able to see my fibroid tumor. She said it's at the top of my uterus and about 2 inches in diameter. She said she doesn't see that it's going to cause any problems but that the doctor may or may not have me get another ultrasound later just to check to see if its grown any. I put pics in my photo album of precious RaeAnna. My next appointment is not until March 27th.

doctor's appt.
I had my appointment today. I found out that the baby's heart rate was 140bpm. Since my last appointment I've been weighing myself at home to see how much weight I've gained or lost. Especially since my doctor said she wanted me to gain by the next appointment or she would be concerned since I'm average weight and height but am on the small side. So as of last Wednesday at home I weighed in at almost 122 pounds when I started at 115 pounds pre-pregnancy. But I'm still getting morning sickness once in awhile and was sick once last week and twice today. So my weight at the doctor's was 119.5 pounds and the last appointment I weighed 118.5.  The nurse practitioner said she wants to see me in 3 weeks to monitor my weight since I've only gained 1 pound since 4 weeks ago at my appointment. I also got to schedule my ultrasound appointment.  It's for next Wednesday at 11am. I'm so excited I will finally be able to see my baby inside of me. My husband and my mom will be there for the ultrasound. My husband and I were also thinking about further in the pregnancy getting a 3d ultrasound for $125. At my appointment today, I had blood work done to check for down syndrome and other birth defects in the baby and I had them do a Chicken Pox screening to see if I'm immune. My arm is so sore from the adhesive of the tape the lady used after taking my blood. I practically had to rip the tape off so I don't know if some skin came with it or if i'm allergic to it.  Oh well, it could've been a lot worse. I know labor and delivery will probably hurt a lot worse than my arm is right now. Right after I started writing this my left nipple leaked for the first time lol. It felt pretty weird!

Kick!
I started to feel the baby kick a few days ago.  It was an awesome experience.  My little one is strong enough to be felt from the outside already so I guess I have a soccer player in me whether it's a boy or a girl lol.  My husband was able to feel the baby kick for the first time today.  He said now at least I know you're not lying lol.  I know he was joking but I'm sure when I told him I could feel the baby move that he was anxious to feel it too.  Tomorrow I get to set up my first and only ultrasound appointment to find out the sex.  I'm so excited but I know the wait is going to seem like so long.
