It is normal for a woman's belly button to pop out as her pregnancy progresses. Don't worry! It'll return to it's natural "in" state after birth

Old Wives Tales
Ok-so I have heard tons of advice from women as soon as they find out I'm pregnant. The other day I was talking about playing badminton and sometimes I have to reach overhead to hit the birdie. One lady gasped and said "don't do that!! the umbilical cord could wrap around the baby's neck!!" My jaw proceeded to drop open and I felt guilty and scared. BUT after thinking about it for several days I don't understand how that is physically possible. I'm going to check with my doctor about it.

2nd trimester-honeymoon stage? As if!!

Supposedly the first trimester was going to be more difficult to bear than the second one. But so far, the first trimester felt like a breeze compared to what my body is going through now! During the first few months I did feel very fatigued, but it was an excuse to sleep a lot. I didn't get morning sickness or weird cravings.

Now, sooo much is changing. I have been feeling a lot of baby movement. It is so fun because it always comes unexpectedly. Some of the things I've been experiencing lately is that darn round ligament pain, difficulty bending and squatting (I have to do this a lot for work and playing badminton at school), trouble getting into a comfortable sleep position, feeling a desperate HUNGRY feeling sometimes, and now my clothes are definitely not fitting anymore....

One thing I am happy about is my weight gain so far. I wondered how the heck I am supposed to keep track of my weight gain so I don't gain too much or too little. But I guess my body is just taking care of that on it's own! Before I found out I was pregnant, I was at 106 lbs. I am at about 113 or 114 now which is right on track. Yay!

Fears are starting to settle in about stretch marks. Will I get them? Also, I'm very curious about what my body is going to look like in the coming months. I'm afraid that everything is going to sag afterwards. Gary keeps telling me I need to think more positive and stop thinking the worst about these issues.

Probably the most exciting thing is possibly finding out the sex of the baby this week. We have an ultrasound scheduled, and we are very anxious to see how much our baby has grown and all the movements it is doing now.

Bye

Oh p.s. I forgot to mention I have back pain now. Owww!!!

A new adventure
I am unusually calm today. Prior to finding out I was pregnant, my life seemed to feel so rushed and I was constantly thinking of what my next move is. I wanted everything in my life to run as smoothly as possible and tried to plan and map out every detail of my future. But now, things are different. I can no longer plan the way I used to. In a way, I feel relieved. I spoke with uncle Albert yesterday and he said that I was going on a new adventure. For the first time in a long time, the word "adventure" seems to perfectly describe my life right now. I want to treasure every moment of this pregnancy. It is a very exciting feeling! I know that Gary feels the same way. There seems to be so many possibilities for our family's future. Yay!
