22 weeks, 174 lbs We are 22 weeks today and all is well. Leilani is moving like a wild animal, especially on the days that I am at home and can really recognize the movements. Like today, she has been all over the place and I am feeling the movements higher up in my stomach, above my navel. Larry gets to feel her to. She is most active early in the morning right after breakfast, and usually after meals. And I apparently am growing pretty well, wieighing in at 174 lbs. I swear I am all boobs and belly. I will soon need to be shopping for a bigger bra. My main concern is my breast getting stretch marks because they are so itchy, but I examine them and moisturize often. And Hubby and I agreed that if they get flat like a pancake from stretching during the pregnancy, then I would have them lifted, no implants or anything becasue I have plenty of fat and tissue...I just don't want them to be resting at my navel. Okay, back to Leilani, we are still having a difficult time with her middle name, but Larry like Anaya and I like Abagail. We'll figure it out before my baby girl gets here. I went shopping for her this past weekend and picked up a few more outfits and some of her layette items. I've made a buying schedule and we are almost decided on a nursey theme. All of a sudden Larry like pink when he was dead set against it. We will have to make a decision by the end of this month (that's the deadline I've given us) so we can decide on the furniture color by December.
As for me, I'm dong fine and taking all of the discomforts for my baby. The heartburn is miserable despite the use of Zantac and Tums, but my tummy burns like heck. And I've been experiencing sciatica and my left leg giving out. It's a horrible feeling, but Larry rubs and massages it to help with the discomfort. And I have been having this ridiculously nagging cough for the past 2-3 weeks or so, right before I got the H1N1 vaccination. The cough is non-productive, and I don't have a fever, chills, nasal congestion or any other symptoms but the dry cough. The nurse told me I can take Robitussin. The owrst part of the cough is that it causes me to leak urine which is horrible. My momma says that it will stop once Leilani, whichis a blessing becasue I don't want Larry to have to change my diaper and the baby's.
Let's take a look and see what is happening inside the womb this week.....At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and she's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
We have approximately 126 days left; even less since the cerclage comes out 37 weeks and I plan on having her really soon after that. So we really only have 15 weeks left, thank you Jesus.
Ya'll keep praying and you are all in my prayers as well.
