Pregnancy Journal

I know it has been a while since the last update but there is so much to tell...

Well for starters Dane turned 6 months old on the 8 of this month, he is getting so big and beautiful. he tries to hard to crawl, he can get up on hands and knees but wabbles and falls, then sometimes takes a leap and does a nose dive right into the carpet.

This past Friday... He said MOM. I was so proud, but you know, he hasn't stopped saying it since. when he can't see me, mom, mom, mom until I pick him up, then he will lip the word. He is eating stage 2 foods and loves to eat!! he is 16.7 lbs and is 28 1/2 inches long. he is at 50% for weight which is good, and at 92% in height wich is TALL like Daddy. I told Thom that by the time he is 6 he will be taller than me. only 5 more inches to go and hes 1/2 my size now. Well he is just so wonderful and such a joy to us all. he couldn't be more perfect. I have pictures so please see them!!!

Yesterday the baby and I went to see Daddy and Gramee. While we were eating dinner Dane started to cry and daddy picked him up, he got so mad because he wanted mommy that in his cry (which shocked us all) he said MaMa. When i picked him up, he stopped crying. then i layed him down and he said Da. I really don't think that he knew exactly what he was doing but we know what we heard!! The doctors and everybody says that he is really advanced for his age. he tries to sit up, and talk, and crawl. He is even starting to show bottom teeth. he has been picking his head up since the day he was born, and a week after that, his upper half. He doesn't know his name yet, because i always call him by a nickname but he will respond to that. I have to call him Dane more often so he knows that is his name vs. Boogie or Booger butt.

On February 7th, i was induced into labor, for the 1st 5-6 hours i wasnt doing too badly, then they started to increase. i was in tears, i was in so much pain, i decided right then and there that i wasn't having sex ever again, let alone another baby. Because i was in such pain the doctor decided to give me Stadal, that was a mericle drug!! too bad it only lasted for one contraction, then i wanted more, they couldn't give me any more of that so they gave me an epidoral. and let me tell ya, if you get the opertunity to have an epidoral and don't use it, then you are CRAZY!! that was my saving grace right there. it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. Thats right i was one of those women who thought, "i don't want any drugs, i don't want to hurt the baby" and all that jazz. well when you are in that much pain for that long, those kinds of thoughts kinda go away.

I was in labor for 17 long agonizing hours, but it was all worth it. We video taped the birth and it was beautiful, Thom and i both cried as the baby was born and he leaned down and kissed me and he and i just knew that this was the best moment in our lives. There really isn't anything close to having a baby, even though this is my first,( i have changed my mind since the delivery) i know that any birth whether its your 1st or your 50th they are all the most special and happiest moments of your life. NOTHING can top it or come close when you hold your baby for the first time. I will continue to update the site as often as possible, but i just want to say it has been so fun being able to update everyone each week and month on the status of our baby. And now he is here. His name is DANE THOMAS COUGHENOUR he was born on FEBRUARY 8, 2008 at 5:47AM he weighed 7LBS. 6.4OZ and he was 20 INCHES LONG
