A.J. (Alan James) Michael Heida is finally here!
Well i got my wish and didnt have the baby late! He was right on time. I lost my mucus plug and began slight contractions on Friday the 8th. When i went to the dr around 4 pm they discovered that my water had broken and was leaking slowly. I really didnt feel any real contraction pain till after they fully broke my water and gave me oxytocin to speed up labor around 10 pm (it was very busy at the hospital, since everyone tempted to have their baby on 8.8.08, so it took forever for everything). Thank goodness for my epidural even though it didnt fully help contration pain. I was finally the full 10 centimeters dialated around 9 a.m. And finally got to start pushing around 9:30 a.m. The dr was right about me having a great pelvis because i only pushed for an hour before A.J. finally arrived at 10:28 a.m. She wasnt, however, correct about having a small baby. Because A.J. ended up being 8 ibs and 11.9 oz. And 21 inches long. It was the worst pain of my life, but i was lucky enough to have a great coach and husband by my side. Im just so gratful that A.J. came out perfectly healthy and adorable!
The funny thing is that I only gained half the weight as both my sister and mom did during their pregnacies but had a 2 ib heavier baby then they did. I guess that what i get for having a Heida baby! :)
We finally got to come home from the hospital on sunday around 3 p.m. Unfortunatly A.J. has been a great baby except at night. So neither me and Jay have got much sleep the last few days. Fortunatly we make a great team and are getting through it together. Well A.J. has his first dr appt tomorrow, cant wait to make sure hes still healthy and doing great. And his circumsition is on friday. Please pray for us that everything continues to go well and that me and Jay get to experience sleep again sometime soon. :)
