1st Shower - Straw Shower
The shower season has officially begun!  Last Saturday Gayle and Helen threw a very nice shower for Bryce at Straw House the II.  It was very nice!  We played two games-a fun, cute bingo baby game and a  baby animal game.  Basically there was a list of 20 animals and you had to write the baby equivalent for that animal.  I only got 6 right....who knew what a baby armadillo was called or a baby fish?  I wrote down the correct answers but I'll stick with baby______ for now!  I saved each of the games for the baby book.

After games and appetizers we had a lovely lunch!  It was a yummy chicken salad with some veggies on the side and a strawberry/cream fruit side.  We then had coffee and some very fluffy angel food cake.

Bryce received some very cute outfits that I can't wait to try on him.  He also received some cute accessories, books, and necessities like a 'Huggies Newborn Kit'.  One book from Grandma Helen was a book that Brad's grandpa gave him when he was a toddler.  We also received two knitted sweaters which are sooo adorable!

After the shower (the boys had been golfing) everyone met up again for a cook out.  It was a very enjoyable evening as well!  Once we got home Brad was asleep in 5 minutes b/c he was so tired since he had worked in the morning.  I lasted for about 1 1/2 hours before heading to bed.

Thanks Gayle and Grandma Helen for the nice shower!  We appreciate it!

My First Mother's Day
My first Mother's Day was absolutely wonderful!  Brad and I travelled to Crown Point on the Friday night before Mother's Day because it was important to me to be with my mom and sis that weekend.  Our visit was soooo enjoyable.  Isabelle is getting so big and she is so adorable.  I love that she knows who I am and is comfortable with me.  She always steals my water bottle which is really cute.  Her and Uncle Brad get along well too.  She took a picture with him and they worked on Mr. Potato Head together.  She got a little shy when it was time to say good-bye to him though!

I wasn't expecting anything from my family but my mom and sis were so thoughtful and made me feel very special.  Besides cards which I have already added to my baby book pile, my sis got me a cute book and my mom got me a picture frame.  My grandma even got me some fannie may chocolate!  It was gone by Monday I believe.  Brad completely surprised me too.  On Saturday my mom and I went shopping and when I came home there was a bouquet of my favorite flowers for me from Bryce!  I couldn't believe it....so romantic!  The flowers were beautiful and my son wrote me a nice note thanking me for keeping him warm for the past months.  He also wants me to take him to a Brewers game.  Hmmmm....that request could have come from Brad!  Brad also got me a combined Mother's Day/birthday present.  A long time ago when we were dating Brad bought me a blue topaz necklace/earrings set.  I actually wore them for the wedding. He has wanted to get me a matching bracelet forever so he surprised me with going shopping for one this year!  :)

I also received cards from Lindsey and my mother-in-law!  :)  Those have been added to the baby book pile as well.

Everyone was so thoughtful!!!!  I like being able to share mom status with my mom and sister.  It is kinda fun!

Ice Cream
Yum!  It's about 11pm and I'm sitting at the computer eating a bowl of lovely minty, chocolate ice cream while trying to keep the cat out of it.  I wasn't feeling very good today so I came home from yoga, ate, and went to sleep for about 2 hours.  I'm feeling better but now I'm not so sleepy anymore.

Things are going pretty well here.  I've been extremely exhausted and haven't been sleeping well, but other than that things are ok.  I'm still sleeping where I fall.  Sometimes I'm on the couch and sometimes I make it up to bed.   It's kinda complicated to crawl into bed while pregnant without waking your sleeping husband.  Luckily my back really likes the couch because I can prop myself up on it.  The cat likes when I sleep with her too but it may be happening a bit too much b/c she is starting to get separation anxiety again.

Last weekend Brad and I spent a really enjoyable weekend in Door County with Lindsey and Dave.  We had a nice, relaxing time.  We did some shopping, some sight-seeing, and ate VERY well.  :)

Our classes are going well.  We have had 3 so far.  2 classes have been on the birth and 1 class so far on infant care.  The infant care class definitely overwhelmed me.  Ah!  So much to remember and do in those first few weeks!

Thats about it for now!  I'll keep you posted!

Doc Appointment 5-2-08

Not too much to report (which is great!)  I haven't had any of my bad original symptom in about 1 1/2 months so that is great news.  I received my 2nd shot of Rhogam during this appointment.  (Since my bloodtype is AB- I need to get this shot a few times b/c if I didn't my body could reject a second baby.)  I also drank the lovely orange drink so they could draw blood after 1 hour to check for signs of gestational diabetes.  All of these tests came out fine which is good news too!

The worst part was talking to my doctor about her vacation.  She is scheduled to be on vacation the week that I am due!  (Doctor's go on vacation???)  I requested a female physician (I have never felt comfortable with a male doctor and I don't think the time to start is now!)  She is going to hook me up with another close female doctor so that I can meet her before my due date and review my birthing plan with her as well.  It's getting a little confusing though with all of the doctor appointments to meet with her and my original doc!

I have a few to do's on my list.  1.  I have to look into my insurance plan and see how many miles away from my location they cover me if I travel about a month before my due date.  I need to check this to see if I can attend my brother-in-law's wedding in Bloomington on June 28th.  2.  I need to create my birthplan which I will be bringing to my next month's appointment.  I definitely have a few decisions to make!  :)
