Updates Ok, I have been a slacker for the past month!!!! I guess it is about time for an update. Things have been SOOOOOOOOOOO busy around here.
My Calendar: June was pretty filled up. One weekend we had a 30th birthday party and then a Brewers game Brad put together with 30 of our friends on the following Sunday. Very fun weekend but I don't bouch back as quickly. If I'm busy the whole weekend I'm usually tired the whole next week. The last weekend in June we went to Chris and Brittany's wedding in Bloomington. We had a good time but it was very tiring for me. We left here Thursday before the wedding and stopped in CP for a quick visit and rest before continuing to Bloomington on Friday morning. I had woken up at 5:30 and pretty much crashed at 10pm. I dropped Brad off at the bar and was planning to stay, but then all of a sudden I had to leave. I was light-headed, my bod was heavy, I felt like I was going to puke, etc. Definitely time to rest! On the wedding day I did pretty good b/c I rested all day long. Sunday wasn't too bad with the drive home, but then I was exhausted for the whole next week. The weekend after the weekend was Brad's parents annual 4th party. Again, fun times but exhausting! I think I made it until 10:30 before I crashed (just like before) and had to go home. This weekend we had the Friends shower but we had a very relaxing Sunday to recoup.
Nesting: I have been definitely getting into the nesting phase of things. I have a whole list of things that I want to get done before the baby is born. Brad and I are doing a good job of checking things off, but we still have some to go! Most importantly we got the baby room furniture (still waiting on the glider) and put it together last week. We also got some decorations put up (I'm going to try and post a baby room pic soon), everything washed and put away, and everything organized. I still have 1 more Babies R Us run to do but everything is looking good. We also cleaned a bunch last week but unfortunately we have to redo some of it b/c of the party this weekend. :( I never thought that I would get anal about a clean floor but when it takes you so long and so much effort to do something it makes you feel bad when it gets messed up! I was hoping we would be able to hang out outside, but with the rainy weather the bugs have been horrible. Oh well!
Day Care: We finally picked our daycare! Yeah! We looked at about 4 daycares in Waunakee and decided to go with a friend of Jamie's named Becca. She is supernice and it was by chance that we found out that she does home daycare. Luckily she had an opening b/c one of her daycare children is going to school in the fall. Brad and I were very impressed with her. She seemed very genuine and definitely like she knew what she was talking about and what she is doing. The kids even have little cubbyholes in her daycare room at her house! She is willing to work with us as well which is really great with Brad's job. Plus, I will be working from home 1 day a week after the baby is born and it will work for her too. Yeah! One less big decision to worry about!
Work: I am still working! I always thought that I would work right up until my due date because I have always been so career oriented. Well, that changed recently. It changed mainly because there were a bunch of tasks that I wanted to complete before I left so that I left my team in really good shape before my leave. However, no one else seems to feel the urgency and we are far behind on the schedule I wanted the team on before I took off. Since no one else seems to care, I'm done. I have been very stressed the past few weeks with my calendar, cleaning, getting everything ready, working/deadlines, and I really need to relax a little before the little man arrives. So, I have decided to take off the 2 weeks prior to my due date since my company offers 2 weeks paid leave before. Might as well take what I can get! I'm very, very excited about this decision at this time. My last day officially is July 25th. 10 days and counting! Unfortunately I will be going back to work right when things are supposed to be the most hectic and when my project will be going 'live' within a month. One day and one priority at a time!
How I'm Feeling: I haven't been feeling too bad these days. Sleep isn't really an option anymore. I'll start off in bed but then I'll have to pee. It takes me forever to get out of bed and by the time I'm done it's too much work to get back in! I usually end up on the couch. I have been sleeping on my side or upright in a chair b/c of my hip pains. I also get random leg pains in my upper/inner leg. I can barely walk when I first get up. Besides the sleep my belly is soooooooooooooo itchy. I have red marks all along my lower belly and they drive me nuts. I've been using benadryl to try to help with that. The last thing bugging me is my c-ankles. Today they aren't too bad, but the past few days my ankles top of my foot, toes, and everything get huge! I swear that it is 5 lbs per cankle with the weight Im gaining. They are very uncomfortable but I'm trying to elevate as much as possible above the heart. Not too much longer before I can walk normally again!
Doctor: I've been having weekly doctor appointments lately. Last week I had two, one normal one and one where they checked for some bacteria. That test came out negative. With my normal visits everything is looking good. My bp was a little high 1 appointment but came down to satisfactory number before I left. My heartrate, urine samples, uterus growth, baby heartbeat, temp, etc. are all fine. At my last visit my doc was going to start stripping my membranes to get my hormones started for getting my body ready for delivery. However, she found that my cervic was starting to open so she didn't have to do that. She said in first time mothers it is usually still fully closed at this point and mine is already working. Yeah! That was good news!
Well, I think that is it from this end right now. I'll try to keep you posted as the delivery date gets closer! :) |
