Baby has arrived!

2008-06-09  (30 weeks)
30 weeks
Hi all!

Things are definitely getting much harder to cope with now.  Baby is getting bigger now though he is slightly smaller still.  I had to go for an extra scan last week to make sure he was still growing.  He is about a week behind in growth in general so that was a comfort to know.  I have another midwife appointment this coming Monday (I see her every two weeks now) so we can chat more about his size then.  The radiologist also told me there is not a lot of fluid around the baby so that is a concern.  She thinks I will probably go back in for another scan in a week's time as this is a sign of a premature delivery.  He's going to be 31 weeks this Friday so even if he comes early his chances are very good.

The tiredness is really getting to me now.  I'm finding ti really hard to work a 9 hour shift with no breaks at work now so it might not be too long now before I have to stop work.  Baby is sitting under my rib cage quite often and it's hard to breath.  I can get up out of the chair and now be breathless so I'm not enjoying this part of the pregnancy at all.  Although I am only 30 weeks I'd like it to be over already.  I haven't started waddling yet but I'm sure it will not be too long until I do!

I will try and take some more photos soon - go the Demi Moore professional pics eh?  LOL.  How the heck did she do it and look so damn good?  Mind you a professional photographer could make us all look good!  Ha ha.

Take care y'all

27 weeks...
Hello all!

My last monthly midwife appointment was yesterday and it was good.  The baby is doing well, as am I, and he is now approximately 23 cms long.  I'm finding it a little harder to reach the floor, well more like I'm finding it harder to get back up LOL!  He now weighs about 1 kg so he is starting to make a difference in the way I do things now.  The midwife says we are both doing very well and he's not going to be a big baby - PHEW!

Baby can now hear everything, music, voices etc. and he is all fully developed.  He just has to spend all his energy now eating, sleeping and growing.  It's funny because when i put certain music on he moves around and changes sides though I'm not sure if this is a liking to the music or he wants it turned off!

I've been having quite sever pains in the lower abdomen lately and I'm finding it harder to walk around as the ligaments are tearing and stretching.  They don't really tell you any of this before you're pregnant!

My midwife and I had a really good chat yesterday about labour, drugs and the hospital.  It was nice to know that whatever plan I make will be stuck too and she will help in any way she can.  Anne is my midwife's name and she is a South Afrikaan.  She pulls no punches so it's a great comfort to have her.  I'm not nervous about the labour really, just that I will be near the hospital at the time!

Antenatal classes start tonight so I will update hopefully tomorrow.  I'm looking forward to them.

Love to all and take care

Love Jane Caroline

Another day...
This week has been a non event really.  I am now 26 odd weeks with about 14 to go.  Corey and I are pretty much sticking to the name of Fletcher though no hard rules in place yet on the surname.  Our boy will have at least two middle names though those are still to be decided.

Yesterday I interviewed at a temp agency so I can obtain more work over the next couple of months.  I am currently working two days a week a a barista (though still in training) so at least I am out working.  The girl at the agency was really nice though when she read that I was a qualified dog trainer she wanted to talk about her Schnauzer for the whole time!  Anyway she was really nice and now I'm just waiting on my references being checked out and some work to come in.

I was getting ready for my interview yesterday and was trying to find clothes that fit.  I have one of those belly belts that are a bridge gap for your trousers although they do leave your fly etc. exposed.  So being mrs fix it I then took an older white vest and cut it up.  Voila!  A stretchy piece of fabric to cover up my fly and other bits that might have been hanging out... LMAO!

Mothers Day was on Sunday and as usual I completely forgot to call my Mum in the UK - SORRY MUM!  It was also John's birthday the same day though he has done his back in so I haven't seen him yet.  He is pretty busy though these days so sometimes he pops into work on a Thursday or Friday for a coffee, it's nice.

We're in the process of looking for a new palce to rent at the moment.  We've been to quite a few only to discover that they are not quite habitable!  The rent some landlords want is ridiculous.  Never mind, we'll keep looking...

No pictures just yet, I will take some later and post them.  At present I am sitting here in a t shirt and not looking very pretty I might add.  Always thinking about food I think I will make a shepherds pie for dinner tonight, I just need to find a recipe.

My love to whoever is reading this - probably just you eh Mum?

Love you lots
Jane

First entry
Well I have never been very good at these things but lord knows I will try.  After Mum Emailed me to say a journal would be a good idea I trawled through the internet and found this one.  So here goes...

Today, unfortunately, I have caught a cold.  Nothing too bad though I am keeping indoors, warm and resting so it should pass shortly.  I'm working tomorrow but I should be fine.

It's really hard to keep away from the foods you are not supposed to eat.  I tell you, if I had known that delicatessen foods were a no-no and I wouldn't be able to have them I would have eaten a ton of it before I fell pregnant.

My baby shower planning is underway at present.  I'm having it at my brothers place and my friend Kate is helping to organise it.  I have a register on two different web sites now which took a month of Sundays to complete!  Why do they not have one simple website covering all the baby necessities???  I have some clothes, I've bought a newborn car seat so as long as the wee bugger has boob, clothes and can travel I think we'll be fine.
I'm sure that some of you may thing this a little strange - but it'd be nice if you could put some comments in the guest book.  It will be nice to have this journal to look back on so sign away!

Til next time
Ciao
