Madison Ann Hart has arrived! She's a spring baby, and born just before a snowstorm hit. The hospital was flooded with deliveries that night. But she's here, and weighed in at 6 lbs 12 oz, 19 inches, after just 7 hours of "hard" labor. I opted for the epidural after all, which made things a bit easier.
Madison (Maddie) is adorable, if I do say so myself. She sleeps quite a bit, but she also has a few hours of "awake" time each day, usually when we're trying to sleep. Since I'm the feeding machine I'm the one who takes the night shift. She's been waking up a couple of times each night, and we're both learning the process of breastfeeding so things take longer than I hope they eventually will.
We had a weigh-in at the doctors on Monday and she's up to 6 lbs 15 oz, which means she must be eating all right. Everything else looks good, too. She's a healthy baby!
I could write a ton more but, as you other parents know, time is limited right now, so I'm just going to post a few pics and provide an update later. And here's a link to her page on BroMenn's site: http://www.bromenn.org/body.cfm?xyzpdqabc=0&id=275&action=detail&ref=86027
Thanks to everyone who called, emailed, and sent cards and things to welcome Maddie home! I hope to return calls and emails very soon. |
