Has Anyone Else Had These Markers Before
i just want to start out by saying im new to this and terrified! i just got the worst news and have been nonstop on the internet doing research about down syndrome. im 29 years old i have a 5yr old daughter perfectly healthy my husband is 27 also with 2 perfectly healthy kids,, i am now exactly 20 weeks pregnant since the beginning evereything has been fine all my sonos and bloodwork,,My 13 w 6 d  sonogram was excellent a nuchal fold of 1.9mm along with nothing else wrong,,all bloodwork the trriple screen blood test came back great,,,my chances went up to 1  in  1,134 of downs..So 4 days ago i went for my 20 week sono and this is where i am at now,,they told us they found at first 2 soft markers which was a nuchal fold of 6.2 and i have been reaserching alot and there allopwance is 6mm ,,then they said we had mild plycentisis ,,which is dialation of the kidneys its in both and they are 5.63cm which the nurse said is common in little boys which we are having, and there last marker that came up was a mildly shortened femur,,thats how it is written in the report,,so i have to meet with a genetics counselor thursday..i just try to make sense of this by his first nuchal being fine and now its only .2 over the allowed, and the  kidneys i heard the range is 5 we are at 5.63 and are having a boy,,as far as the femurs i just feel like once they saw the kidneys thats when all these other minor things were noticed,,,Can anyone shed some light ,,, we are having one more u/s done before the amnio...does anyone know if these markers and how low thyey are can be a real chance of down syndrome?
