Pregnancy Journal

thanksgiving was yesterday. it was avas 1st. so strange to think that last year, i was sitting at that diningroom table (knowing deep down that i was pregnant, but knew it was too early to take a test) and mom asked me if next year we would have a little one sitting between us...then on december 1st, i took the test and it was positive.

we had a nice thanksgiving. visited kalhars at morgans, passed the baby around and chatted. havent seen some of that bunch since christmas last year. after we left morgans, we stopped by papa & mimis. ggma alf got to meet, hold and feed miss ava for the 1st time. i think she enjoyed it very much and im glad we got the chance to see her.

dinner at home was quick and quiet. tom came over and ate with us and then stayed to play video games. overall, it was a pretty chill day. i enjoyed seeing my family and friends. i did miss some of the people who were absent this year...but we cant have it perfect all the time. maybe next year we can have everyone together--but i think that is a lot of wishful thinking.

in two days you will be one month old--holy crap! where has the time gone? you are no longer the floppy little fragile baby you once were, now you are starting to gain weight and are alert. it amazes me how much youve changed over the past few weeks. i see a lot of old grandma in your expressions and i think of her a lot when i look at you. she would have loved you and been so proud of you.

it seems like FOREVER ago that we were in the hospital awaiting your arrival, and our recovery "vaca" where we got to know you and take care of you your very first few days on the outside. i feel like you have been with me forever and cant quite remember what it was like before you arrived. you bring me a lot of joy--and im thrilled that your big sister loves you as much as she does. she takes good care of you...altho sometimes she worries me a little bit! lol.

wow, before i know it you will be a year old and then 5 and entering kindergarten like your sister...and then onto the teen years. HOLY CRAP!
