I am now 28 weeks pregnant.

2008-04-08  (23 weeks)
23 week prenatal appt.

saw dr. vesco today for our 23 week appt. everything looks good. my b/p is normal and urine looks good...i just need to work on watching my eating and exercise. of course, i already knew that. ive gained a total of 20 lbs. so far. blah!

i am measuring (as uasual) bigger than where i am, so i will have an ultrasound in about 3 weeks to make sure miss ava is growing according to schedule. right now at 23 weeks, i measure closer to 29. too bad i know we arent really that far...oh well.

feef and i went baby shopping tonight after our appt. we got a diaper bag (different than the one i originally picked out, but i like it better), a pack of newborn diapers to add to the growing mound, some baby shampoo/body wash, diaper rash ointment (i had several coupons i needed to use), a suckie holder, some wipes, a "coming home from the hospital" outfit, and feef picked out a little soft lamb toy and some of those awesome colored rings that you can string together that she LOVED when she was a baby. i think i spent about $65-70 total, which i didnt think was half bad considering everything we got. now all we have left to buy is a car seat and a diaper bin--and of course more diapers, wipes and formula--but we are set for at least a week or two for now.

i am hoping that maybe tomorrow i will feel good enough and motivated enough to work in the girls room. i need to go thru some stuff, get rid of some stuff and organize some stuff. its a large task and i need to get started, especially because i want to get the bunk beds next month and then get all the baby stuff assembled and arranged before the warm weather starts. i dont want to be doing these things when im 8 months pregnant, in the heat, without a/c.

i guess thats 'bout it for now. i am just taking one day at a time and paitently waiting for this little babe to arrive.

swimmin around

well miss ava, you certainly are an active little one today. you must be doing flips or something in there...its the most ive felt you move, and i actually felt you from the outside. too bad daddy wasnt home to feel it. im sure this is just the beginning tho.

you are still making me sick, and im so tired of being pregnant. i wish it was time for you to arrive.

not much to report right now. you and i have our next prenatal appointment next monday evening...so i guess we will see how things are going at that time. until then my dear, take care and take it easy on mommy...!

spring break

well, not too much to report this week--so far anyway. yaya is home on spring break. its hard for her and me to be home together, as we should clean and be productive, but what we really wanna do is go out and spend time together and screw around.

today we made the usual rounds...a trip to goodwill was very productive. i think she spent $11 and we got you a whole lot of brand new (or close to) newborn onesies and sleepers, etc. all are very cute. we also stopped by k-mart on the way home and managed to run into the fall/winter $2.99 sale and picked up a christmas dress and outfit and a little pink fuzzy winter jacket with cute little ears on the hood...just for you. its hard to pass up on the brand new stuff in store, especially when its that cheap.

planning on getting my hair trimmed tomorrow. this is the longest its been since college. its hard growing it out, but im trying. my hair is naturally wavy, so its been really "out of control" the past few weeks as it has no shape to it at all. i want to have a hairstyle while trying to grow it out. knowing me, i will chop it at the first sign of summer weather. i will try not to tho...

miss mya had a good easter. she is looking forward to next year when you are here to celebrate with her. she says shes going to show you how to find the eggs the easter bunny hides. she is so looking forward to meeting you.

well...i guess thats about it for now. we are currently on week 21. sleep continues to be uncomfortable, dreams are more and more weird and time just cant fly by fast enough. looking forward to being able to cross off yet another week...

gender, confirmed!

went in for 2nd ultrasound to get better pics of heart, spine & kidneys. all seem to be well, except baby wants to lay on her belly 24/7. gender was confirmed, she did not grow a penis over the last week, so it looks like we have a girl for sure. i was so excited because we got to get a profile pic, which we werent able to get last week. its amazing how different she looks from myas profile pic. mya still has the exact same profile, so if that holds to be true, baby ava will look different from her older sister. i cant wait to see her little face.

other good news, i actually weighed a pound less than last time we went in. our at home scale weighed me at almost 8-10 pounds heavier, so i was worried, but i trust the dr. scale more...and losing a pound you cant argue!

anyway, everything measures good and looks developed to 20 weeks. big relief.
