Baby has arrived!

Teething

I'm pretty sure that Nathan is teething. He is very fussy, slobers alot, and wants to chew on his hands. My poor baby is in obvious pain.

I may have to call the doctor though just to be sure. He is just three months on the 28th, it seems like he's a little early for teething, but from everything I've looked into, teething can actually start at around two months, for a few babies. We'll see I guess.

He sure is smiling alot otherwise. He loves to look at our ceiling fan, even if it isn't running (which it isn't since it's winter here) he smiles at it and talks to it. I noticed a couple days ago that his little voice seems to be changing some. It's hard to describe but it's very cute! I just love my little man!

He LOVES to take baths! His first one I did in a baby bathtub, he hated it. So the next time I put him in with me. He loved it, smiling and kicking his feet. I bring him in with me now 2-3 times a week, sometimes more if he is grumpy or fussy, it calms him down and I can put him to sleep easier.

Thats it for now!! TTFN

2 Month Update

Okay, so I originally typed this up on 11-28, but the website was particularly busy, so it didn't upload. So, that being said . . .

Here we go. . . . . Again.

On 11-28 Nathan had his 2 month checkup and shots. Poor baby didn't like the shots (huge needles by the way), but who does? He actually did pretty well, only took a few seconds to calm him down. Everything is good otherwise. The doctor told me I could use prune juice for his little bowels to get them moving more regular. I used it for a few days and he's done real well since. She also said he can has baby Tylenol, which is a relief to me because I'm paranoid about him getting a fever. He had a low grade fever for a couple days and has been a little clingy since, but he's doing good.

On 11-28 his stats were: 11.8 pounds, 22.5' long

On 12-5 his stats were: 12.2 pounds, 23' inches long

He's my growin' little boy! His personality is starting to come out a little bit and it's so nice to him smile and his toys, hjis mobile and of course, Darren & I! He is starting to make sounds as well. I believe he is getting ready to teethe becasue he has been chewing on his hands for the last few days and is slobering alot.

There have still been alot of gifts coming for Nathan too many to write down,b ut I would especially like to thank Grandpa & Grandpa W for some particularly cute bibs! And Darren's mom for a lovely Bear and layette set! And for everyone else who has sent and given things, thank you so much!!!!

No new pics of Nathan yetm but they're coming soon!

Colic Is Bad

Last night was the worst so far for Nathan's colic. Literally screaming he was in so much pain. I tried everythng I could think of and then my mom came over and tried everything she could think of. I ended up calling the nurse hotline and she suggested a warm bath while rubbing his tummy then rock him while rubbing his back. It's supossed to help get the gas moving along. The warm bath did help relax him (although he cried through the whole thing)

He's still not pooping well or burbing well either. I'm wondering if it's the formula. WIC only pays for Enfamil unless there is a doctors note. So hopefully she can give one for different formula. Hopefully it'll help is bowell's move better and burb better too. So I called the doctor's office this morning, but haven't recieved a call back yet. My poor little man. He's fine during the day, but around 7 pm he starts in till about 12-1 am.

During the day he's wonderful, smiling and starting to laugh a little bit too. It's so precious and fun to watch. He's responding to people too smiling at them and watching them.

No new pictures yet.

7 Weeks Old

Friday Nathan will be 7 weeks old. I can't believe how fast time is going by. I brought him home from the hospital just yesterday it seems like.

He still has a bit of a stuffy nose but is doing better as far as the cold. Now he has a bit of colic. Thats fun.  Poor baby just cries and cries. It's so hard because there isn't much that can be done for my poor baby Nathan. Although I've noticed that rocking him in the rocking chair seems to work pretty good. Of course, nor that I've said it, it won't work any more.

He loves to look around and gets upset if we try to get him to sleep. He also is starting holding his head up. When he isn't to tired he can hold it up for a long time. He can push up with his arms if Ihave him over my shoulder, he's also pushing up with his legs. He's a strong little dude! He is starting to respond to Darren and I with smiles. Oh and he LOVES to smile at his mobile, especially if it's going. Darren gets more smiles than me and I think it's because he wears glasses.

On the 28th he has his 2 month checkup and gets his next set of shots. I'm not looking forward to it. It's a wednesday and I'll be by myself to take him, so I can't make Darren do it becuase he works that day.  I may have to have my mom or sister come with me for support.

Well, that all the latest, including the picture.
