Well, I saw a dietician on wednesday and I was put on a strict diet, which I've followed to a t (no cheating even though the pizza at the store yesterday smelled soooo good!). I have to test my blood sugar 4 times a day. But my sugars are still a little high, even with exercise after every meal. I'm concerned about having to take insulin, I'm very oppossed to that. I called my nutritionist to see if it's safe for me to take some natural liquid herbs that help keep blood sugar under control, I'm waiting for her to call back. It's frustrating for me because I'm trying so hard to do everything right and it doesn't seem to be helping. Well, it is some I guess, seeing that my sugars haven't gone over 160 ( 202 and 172 being the highest according to the 3 hour test), but they want me to keep it under 130. Last night after dinner, my blood sugar was great at 97. Happy about that.
Darren is of course, very suportive as always. He even walks with with me to help encourage me to get some exercise. And is willing to follow the meal plan once all others junk food is out of the house
Other than that, Nathan is moving around alot, it's fun to see my tummy moving around. Monday he was so active, even while I was walking, which is totally not his pattern. He hasn't been as active today, probably because he's pooped himself being so active the last few days.
I'm now on doctor visits every 2 weeks. I can't believe how fast everything is moving. Well, today it seems that way, tomorrow it might seem like it's taking forever.
That's all I can think of for now. TTFN!

Update
Well, I failed my 3 hour glucose test. Here are the stats:
Fasting Blood Draw - 90
Hour 1 - 202
Hour 2 - 172
Hour 3 - 150
So quite high for all. I have an appointment with a dietician with a program called Sweet Success for tomorrow at 11:30 am. My doctor today told me I'll probably have to be on a strict diet and test my blood sugar 4 times a day. He also said I may need to go on insulin, which I don't really want to do, so I'm going to try it with strict diet and exercise first. I may try some natural remedies as well. Anything to not have to take insulin! But we'll see what the dietician says first.
We had our convention over the weekend. It was more difficult than I thought it would be. Sitting for all those hours was very hard on my back. And it was hot in there the first couple days. But surprizingly enough, my feet did much better than I thought. We really liked our Hotel (Crowne Plaza), it was very nice, had plenty of parking, and the rooms were great. we'd like to stay there again next year. Of course we'll have Nathan for next years convention, so really, we'll stay at the first available place.
Monday on the way home we went to the Oakland Zoo. Darren loves zoo's and enjoys taking pictures of the animals. Well, our camera kicked the bucket. But we did mangage to get a few pictures over the weekend. Anyway, Nathan was very active all day yesterday, even at the zoo, which was very surprising to me. Usually when I'm moving around he is sleeping, but he moved ALOT Monday. Even today (Tues) he's still been pretty active. I've loved watching the belly move!
Well, that's al I can think of for now. There's a couple new pics in the album. TTFN

Love It
So I'm sittng here on the couch a few minutes ago and realized I haven't felt Nathan move for awhile, so I poke at him to get him to move. It usually doesn't work, he's very stubborn, not at all like his mommy. But he did move to my surprize. I look at my tummy and it's actually moving. Nothing that would be noticble to someone who wasn't paying real close attention. Just small movements that I could see because I was watching for it. I watched for a couple minutes with what I am sure is a massive grin. When he stopped I poked him again and he moved again protest. I enjoyed watching the movements of my belly. Somtimes I get to see him kick at my tummy, like when I'm resting my hands or a book over it, he loves to kick in pretest. That's my little man expressing his opinion before he's even born. In any case, I loved the movement and it makes me happy to be able to see it.
I had my 3 hour glucose test today. Let's just say I hate needles and DO NOT want to do that again! I had to fast for 12 hours first. Then they took my fasting blood. I drank the glucose, which in my opinion still isn't bad tasting (is that a bad sign?). After which every hour for 3 hours they took my blood. When they took the fasting blood I allowed her to try to get it from my arm. It usually doesn't work because my viens roll and/or close up. She tooks a few minutes to feel around for the vien and then gave it a try, but I jumped because the needle hurt to go in. Scared the poor woman when I jumped. Anyway, she still found the vien but it didn't open for her. So she took from the vien in my hand. Still hurts a little, but not like the one in the arm did (I have a nice little bruise there). I got her for the first three blood draws.
The last one I didn't get her, it was someone I hadn't had before on any visit. She was a little to hurried to me and actully missed the very obvious vien in my hand the other lady was using. When she missed she said 'oops'. I wanted to say 'What do you means oops? It's right there for goodness sake!?' On top of that she put it in almost right on top of the needle site where the last one was drawn and that hurt. I have a bruise there now. I didn't like her and hope I don't have to have her again. I've 2 or 3 different girls since I've used that lab and have liked them all, but this one no. I didn't care for her manner or her being too quick to get me in and out.
On an another note, tonight is my first Monday off the job and it's going to be nice to be able to sleep next to Darren. Even nicer that we will get to actually spend a couple days doing our everyday things together without one of us being to tired and having to break the day up in bits and pieces trying to get things done. I've been able to see my ankles since I quit working as well, they are actually normal sized!
There's alot to do the next couple of days getting ready for the convention. Clean the house, get Darren's suits cleaned, laundry, packing, cleaning the car in and out, making sure the yard is picked up. I'm pooped just thinking about it. But I'm looking forward the the convention, it'll be nice to get away and stay in a Hotel.
Not sure if I'll update anymore until after the convention. Maybe I will depending on how much time I have and such, we'll see. Until then TTFN!

Failed =(
Well, I failed my 1 hour GD test. My blood sugar level was 172! Quite high, especially since it's not supossed to be over 140 according to what my doctor told me (I think). So I have to go back on Monday morning at 8 am for another test. And I do have to fast on this one for 12 hours. Man am I going to be hungry when I'm done.
Later today we take Keera (our mutt) to get her shots so she can be boarded while we're gone for the convention. She always does really well, we've never had any problems when take her to get her shot's, such a good girl! She's doing really well not going potty in the house, except for a day last week she pooped in the house a couple times. I'm not sure why she did she was out plenty during the day.
Well, I'm going to eat breakfast and check the mail. TTFN
