Baby has arrived!

1st Mother's Day

We celebrated my first official Mother's Day at a BBQ at our house for both of our families. The weather was perfect and everyone had a great time, especially Brianna. She got passed around all day and was so good all day!! Bobby got me a huge flower pot and flowers, it is really pretty and another flower to plant. And my mom and dad bought me a "Mom" necklace that is white gold, my fav, I love it.... I also got lots of cards and some more flowers from my sister and Grandma. It really was a nice day, to be continued at our house for Father's Day in a month.

So Brianna is loving her new foods. Well, applesauce that is. The squash, not so much. Tonight is bananas so we'll see how that one goes. She GOT HER FIRST TOOTH last Thursday (May 10). You can't really see it by looking at her but man can you feel it!!! She is still pulling her ears though so there may be more to follow. She also started with her first syllable, which to my dismay was "da da da". Thats all she says. But it got me out of getting up early with her Saturday and Sunday because I rolled over and told Bobby she was calling him not me. You know I am the one who does everything forher, you'd think she start with "ma ma" instead, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO............. She is also little Miss Roly Poly these days. She can't be left alone on the floor anymore. She rolls from one end of the blanket to the other. And she is so funny how she rolls from her stomach to her back. She leads with the back of her head, it is so funny. She also loves her feet and will soak her pajama bottoms or socks after sucking on them. She would rather go sockless, but it is still too chilly for that........

5 month Checkup

Hard to believe but Brianna had her 5 month checkup last week. And OH MY GOD!!! She is now 17 pounds (85th percentile) and 26.5 inches (90th percentile). She grew another inch and a half from the last appointment. At this rate, she is going to be 7 feet tall by first grade!!! And when you look at her in person, she doesn't look fat or anything. She actually is rather long and slender. Oh well, she is still gorgeous no matter how much she weighs....

So the doc let me start her on rice cereal once a day. I have been so unsuccessful with that. So I had good old Grandma feed her it each day with her morning bottle. And of course, she gets her to take the whole damn bowl the first time. I think I was too nervous thinking she might choke to death or something. Grandma Ro just shoves it in there, I guess that comes with raising 3 kids of your own. This weekend will be the test though. She has eaten it all week long with Grandma, so we'll see if she does the same for me. I put a funny pick of her first taste of the cereal in the photo album...

Brianna's first vacay & updates

Brianna went away for her first little vacay 2 weeks ago. We all went down to NC to go house hunting, as we are moving down there in 6 weeks. She was so good the whole time! I was stressing before we left about how she would be in the car for that long (it took us like 10 hours with stops) and how she would be in the hotel and again in the car all week driving around with our realtor. But she was an absolute angel. She played in her car seat as we looked at houses and we went out every day for lunch and dinner and she was perfect. We got so many compliments all week long about how beautiful she is, and of course, I could not argue. She liked sleeping on the hotel bed with me, which worried me because I thought she may not like to go back to her crib when we got home, but no such thing. She got back in her crib with no problem. When we finally got home at 2:30 in the morning Friday night, I brought her into the nursery to change her and she just looked up at her mobile on the changing table and gave it the biggest smile ever, as if to say "Thank God I am FINALLY home!!"

Brianna goes for her 5 month appointment this Friday, so we'll see then how much she has grown. She definitely got longer though because her pajamas are getting tight in the feet, not so much in the body though. Her new accomplished feat: rolling over. She did it on April 18th while I was at work. My mom called me to tell me all about it and then she did it for me later in the week. Twice this weekend when she was playing in her crib she turned over onto her stomach. Her favorite toy is still her stuffed duck, which is getting so disgustingly gross with all her slobber all over it but she loves it. She still loves her bouncer, thank God for that. Her swing, not so much anymore. Her new game is to grab the poles of the swing and stop it from swinging. She also loves this soft stuffed butterfly rattle someone got her at the shower. She loves to throw that around and make me pick it up 5 billion times.

Brianna likes to stand up on your lap and most of the time hates to sit. She would rather jump up and down on your lap than anything, of course with her hands in her mouth. She is definitely teething, as she drools all over the place. She doesn't suck on just one finger or her thumb, it is still the whole fist and sometimes 2 at a time. And she is so loud! Sometimes I can barely think when she is talking, or I should say screaming. She definitely will need to learn an inside voice when she can understand. No dry cereal yet, still only formula. But hopefully the doc will agree to let her try it out this month. She is still sleeping through the night, with some patches of waking up here and there. But overall, she goes to bed between 8-9 and wakes between 7-8 after I leave for work.

I could not ask for a more perfect baby!!

Victoria's Christening
This past Sunday we celebrated Victoria's Christening.  It was such a nice day and Brianna looked so adorable in her little dress, although her Grandma and Pop Pop said she doesn't need to wear dresses because she looks like a line backer in them. Real nice!! Someday Brianna will be able to read this entry and then she can yell at them too as I did..... She was so good all day long, even though her Daddy was trying to teach her the day before how to scream in church. He thought that would be funny. She had such a long day, playing with everyone, so she slept really good that night. Last night she did good again sleeping, didn't wake up in the middle of night. Her new thing is to turn herself around in her crib when she is sleeping. When I go in her nursery to check her before I leave for work she is turned sideways from how I started her out and her legs are smooshed against the bumpers. How she does this is beyond me. She kicks so much lately so I guess that is how she does it. She is going to be a good swimmer if all this kicking keeps up. It is just like how she was when she was inside of me. Always kicking me.......
