11 Weeks We heard the heartbeat yesterday! Such a sweet sound, I cannot say it put any fears to rest as I really wasn't afraid of anything at that point. A few days prior to that I felt the baby move for the first time. I couldn't believe it, it is so early!!! I am very definite about it though, the movements have continued since then. I am sure soon enough I will be grumpily saying things like "Get your elbow out of my spleen!" but right now it is a miracle. Our little miracle baby.
In a week or so we go in for the Nuchal Fold testing. It detects 92% of congenital defects. A little finger prick and an ultrasound to set our minds at ease. I am right now awaiting the results of the cystic fibrosis carrier and thyroid testing I did on Wednesday. I would have had the results already but the lab keeps losing my bloodwork. I have gone to get blood drawn for these tests 3 times now. All worth it though. I cannot wait to smell the sweet baby smell of a newborn. To have him(it's a He until proven otherwise) wrap his hand around my finger and squeeze.
On the symptom side of things, cravings are still in full swing, a new craving every 5-6 hours! Today it was a seafood sandwich from Subway for lunch and for dinner I HAD to have nachos (with baked Tostitos of course, nothing fried ever). My stuffy nose seems to be getting better. While it still runs constantly, I can usually breathe through my nose all the time now, it's rarely so bad I can't. Sleep is getting better, with a few minor relapses I have been sleeping through the night again. I think the golden era known as the second trimester is approaching.
Speaking of the second trimester approaching, HOLY COW I am 3 days away from entering the second trimester! I don't want to alarm anyone, but I think time is actually moving faster than it should be. I'm just saying...the weeks are flying by, I hope it goes back to normal soon, I want to relish this pregnancy.
