Baby has arrived!

Baptism 9.9.07

Carter's baptism was beautiful!!!!  The weather was perfect and it all was wonderful.  Fr. Kevin Anderson did a great job during the mass and made it very special for our family.

Carter was blessed by different members of the church and he didn't even cry while the water was being poured on his head :) what a guy!

After the baptism and mass we all went back to our house for brunch.  It was nice, good food - great family.

Carter got wonderful gifts!  He received a cross, several stuffed animals, a prayer frame, a ProEx membership, money, clothes, piggy bank, memory box and more that I am probably forgetting...but most of all Carter's godparents really gave a wonderful gift.  A wall setting for his room, including a shelf, decorative prayer hands with booties to go on the shelf, then a frame with Carter's name and meaning - and to top it off, a onsie that has a picture of Carter and Jeff and Sandi on it, with a little phrase...I will have to add that later, not sure off the top of my head.  but a very sentimental gift.  Very unique and special!!  We loved it.  I had never seen anything like that before. :)

I will put pictures up soon!!!!

1 month old -- 8.30.07

Carter went to visit his Grandpa Butch when he was one month old.  He slept the entire trip (4 hours) and did just fine with all of the new surroundings.

We have been having quite the hard time with his tummy.  The medicine was helping for awhile...but now it is back to tummy aches! He hates to be on his back and immediately spits up if he is on his back flat.  So bedtime has been quite the adventure...

We tried a new formula - Enfamil AR - it is suppose to help spitting up - and it did, but he cried and cried and cried all day today - so we figure something is up and we are putting him back on his old formula right away...we tried gas drops - still not working.

He is gaining weight though and is being more and more alert as each day comes.  We love to see his little personality expand and grow.  He's soooo cute!!!!  I think he is probably close to 8 or more pounds now.  He is eating 3 oz every 3 hours still.

I've added some pictures from our weekend!!! Our little bug is 5 weeks old today!  And we are having the big BAPTISM on Sunday the 9th!!  I'm so excited!

4 weeks old...

My sweet sweet boy is already 4 weeks old.  Gosh it makes me sad that this time is going by so fast...I am enjoying it to the fullest!!

Carter is most definitely such an amazing addition to our family.  It is hard to believe that only less than 2 years ago we had no children and now we are a family of four!  I love it!

With each day it seems like Carter is becoming more and more alert - it is fun to watch him interact with the world.  His awake time is more and more, he stays awake for about 2-3 hours at a time now.  He still sleeps quite a bit, but he is a growing boy!  He must be up to about 7 1/2 to 8 pounds by now.

It is funny how everyone says each pregnancy and each child is so different, you always hear it but gosh it is soooo true.  Just the littlest things are different about the two boys, it is so fun to experience!!!!!

update!

Good news!

The Zantac is working and it has only been 4 days.  Carter has not spit up or vomited since he has been on the medication.  we're so happy!  we can already tell a difference in his personality and he is already looking like he is gaining more weight...so that is great news!

He is such a sweet baby - just a doll face and boy his big brother loves him so much.  Cameron loves to give kisses and hugs to Carter all of the time, and still no jealousy issues and it has almost been a month!  gotta love that.

Carter is eating 3 ounces now every 4 hours.  not sleeping through he night yet - that is our hardest time.  He is a very finicky sleeper...he doesn't like his crib and wakes up crying if he loses his nuk during the night, as you can imagine - that happens a lot. We're working on that.

He is still in premie size diapers and is finally fitting into some newborn sleepers, but not a whole lot yet...I'm sure in a week or two he will be filling out more of the outfits we have.

He loves to be on his tummy - we've been doing tummy time more and more now.  It's still hard to manage our time with the two boys  but it becomes more and more natural with each passing day.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful healthy family!!!

I'll update more soon...I added a picture of Carter's birth annoucement.
