This past Saturday (Feb. 3, 2007) was my baby shower and boy was it a TREMENDOUS success!  I had so much fun!  There were a ton of people there (over 30) and their generosity was amazing.  We have everything we need for Jacob's arrival.  We received his stroller, car seat, bath tub, high chair, walker, swing, bouncy seat, play pen / bassinet, TONS of clothes and all those other little things you need for baby (soap, wipes, diapers, etc.)  It was just an incredible shower ... that's the only way I know to describe it.  (I'll have to add pictures as soon as I can get them downloaded.)  All I can say is our little Jacob is already a very spoiled little boy.

On Friday (Feb. 2nd) Michael's co-workers threw him a diaper shower so he got lots of diapers and baby wipes.  He was embarassed!  LOL  He said that if they hadn't tricked him to get him there, he wouldn't have gone!  He said he's never heard of a guy having a diaper shower.  I think it was REALLY nice of his friends, and he was really touched too.  It was nice of them to think of him!

My mom was here all weekend and that was GREAT.  We did lots of running around shopping and just spending "girl time" together.  Also mom helped me with some housework and to get Jacob's nursery all set up.  It is SO ADORABLE!  (I'll also add pics of that as soon as I can get them downloaded.)

Well ... I THINK that's the update for now.  I've got to go write TONS  of thank you notes now! 

I had an ultrasound yesterday and my little boy is getting SO BIG!  Too big, in my opinion!  He already weighs 6 pounds and his head measures in the 95th percentile!!!  HOLY COW!  I think he's going to be a defensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys!

As usual, my little guy was so stubborn!  He absolutely would not let us see his face.  The technician thought she got his face but then it wouldn't come in to focus.  Then when she tried again, he had completely turned to face the oposite direction.  Little stinker!  He proudly let us see again that he is a boy, but he wouldn't let us see his face.  So anyway ... no new pictures to post.  All I got was a couple feet, a hand and his boy parts.

Tuesday I have an appointment with my OB.  My next ultrasound is scheduled for Feb. 27th.

Wow ... I only have 46 more days until my due date!  How exciting!

I had a doctors appointment yesterday and all is well.  Really nothing exciting to report from that appointment.  I didn't realize it at my last appointment, but I had finally gained 2 pounds at my last appointment (2 weeks ago).  Up until then, I had not gained anything.  At this appointment, I had lost 1/2 pound.  So the doctor is really happy with how I'm doing with my weight.  I have another appointment in 2 weeks and then after that, I'll start WEEKLY appointments!    The doctor told me that I should pack my bag and keep in in whatever vehicle I normally bring to my doctor appointments because she said that she could end up sending me straight up to the maternity ward from one of my appointments.  WOW!  So anyway ... I'll do some shopping this weekend.  I want to get some new Jammies for the hospital and then of course I want to get all the other supplies I'll need to be comfy while I'm there.

I also pre-registered at the hospital yesterday.  The doctor recommended it ... I thought it was too early, but I guess not.  Pre-registering is easier than I expected ... they gave me some paperwork to fill out and they copied my insurance card and driver's license and we were done! 

I have an appointment next Tuesday (the 30th) for another ultrasound.  I'm looking forward to that!  I hope Jacob is growing at a nice healthy rate .. not getting TOOOO big. 

Well ... I guess that's it.  Mom had asked me if I was going to update my journal after yesterday's appointment and I said "well, there's really not much to say", but look at me .... I rambled on for some time! 

Well shucks ... the child birth class this past Saturday got cancelled!    The lady called me Friday afternoon and said that since we were expecting a big snow storm this weekend they didn't want to have us all get out in the snow in case it got bad.  The class is rescheduled for this Saturday (the 27th).  As it turns out, we barely got any snow, so we really didn't have to cancel the class afterall.  Oh well .... I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
