Baby has arrived!

B-Day Present from Baby Jacob

What an eventful weekend!  Mom arrived on Wednesday evening (Nov. 22nd) and we got our shopping done for the paint and border for Jacob's room and also the material for his curtains.

Thursday was Thanksgiving, which we hosted at our house.  It was nice.  We had a total of 12 people for dinner and I think things went very well.  I've been eating left-overs for days.  I'm a little sick of them now!

Friday Mom and I painted Jacobs room and I have to say that it is BEYOND cute!  Mike and I picked out a really light tan color for the walls and I found a super cute border to hang in there.  His nursery will be a sports theme, so the border is made of a bunch of balls (basketballs, baseballs, soccer balls and footballs).  It looks SO AWESOME.  I'm dying to get his furniture in there now.  Also, mom bought him a super cute lamp for his room.  It's a floor lamp that has several "arms" coming out with a different ball on each (basketball, football, etc).  His room is going to be so cool!

Saturday we had a fairly relaxed day.  We had my brother and sister-in-law over for dinner.  (Mexican cornbread ~ YUMMY!)

Sunday was such a fun day.  We celebrated my birthday that evening at outbacks.  I got lots of really nice gifts, but probably one of my favorites was the gift I received from Jacob (my unborn child)!  His daddy is so sweet!  I got a bath set ~ lots of yummy smelly stuff.  Michael had Nicole sign the card in little kid writing like it was from Jacob.  It was so sweet!  I LOVED IT!  My little Jacob is already melting mommy's heart!

HOW CUTE!
Just when I think things are becoming status quo in my pregnancy and there's nothing much to report, I get something really fun to report.  My little Jacob had hiccups last night.  It was so stinkin' cute!  I always wondered how mothers could tell that it was hiccups they were feeling, but it was so obvious.  It was the exact same little movement in the exact same spot in almost a rythmic pattern.  And what was really funny is that apparently the hiccups kind of ticked him off because he was kicking like crazy at the same time.  I can't wait for the next time he has hiccups now ... it was so fun!

Obligatory Update

Well, it's been almost two weeks since I last updated my journal, so I feel compelled to at least put an upate on here.  The only problem is ... I don't really have much to say!

Nothing much has changed over the last couple weeks.  I am still feeling Jacob move on a daily basis.  He is still quite stubborn.  He'll be really active and kicking a lot, but as soon as Michael or I put a hand on my tummy to see if we can feel him moving, he quits!

I've suddenly noticed that my belly is really noticable now.  (For those of you who know me ... I know ... I was already fat!)  However, this is different.  I finally feel like I look pregnant and not just fat.  What's weird is that Jacob seems to hang out nice and low in my tummy, but it's my upper tummy that seems to be bulging.  I suppose it's from all my organs getting forced up there.  I don't know.

This week will be Thanksgiving.  We're hosting it at our house and mom is coming to join us!  I'm definately looking forward to that!

I'm 24 weeks along now!  Only 16 more weeks to go!  WHOA!  Isn't that crazy!

Okay ... I guess that's it.  C-ya

New Pics of Jacob

Yesterday we had our fourth ultrasound at it was just as awesome as all the others.  Jacob's heartbeat was 152 and he is approximately 1 pound and 2 ounces now.

We also had our monthly OB appointment.  When the doctor was listening to Jacob's heartbeat, she said "he just kicked" and I said "how can you tell" because I couldn't feel it.  She said that she could see my tummy move and that she was able to hear it as well.  So of course, when we got home, Michael and I spent quite some time holding my tummy to see if we could feel him kick and of course we couldn't.

Jacob was a little stubborn for the ultrasound.  He didn't want to let us see his face.  Everytime she tried to get a look at his face, he either flipped over where we saw the back of his head or he would put his hands up in front of his face.  I'm putting a few pics in the photo album that came out pretty good.  It was cool while she was doing the ultrasound because at one point, you could see his little leg curled up an then all the sudden he kicked really hard and you could see his little leg extend as he kicked me.  It was so cute.

Anyway, I sound like a proud and bragging mommy already and he's not even born yet.  I'll just go ahead and close and let you go peek at his pics in the photo album.
