Hi Deanna;  It is getting so close and I am getting so excited with you!  Can't wait to meet our newest grandson, _____________ ?   I've got a little stash of things here almost ready to send, but am waiting for one thing to be finished.  Glad to hear you're feeling healthy and contented.  I am counting down the days.  Love, Mom D

you are so so close girl!! hmm, I can't really answer many of your questions, except that your prefolds won't be at their peek absorbency until they've been washed like 7 times, and the pockets only need one hot wash and a cold rinse to start, just to get the chemicals off of them. And I really didn't notice the Levster slowing down any before labor (that's how we spell Labour in america) But I'm pretty sure he wasn't due to come out for a few days and Shawn and I accidentally induced. . .whoops:) But who knows

ok, as for the exercise and labour. I'm a firm believer that any  woman fit or not can have the same labour. It doesn't matter how toned your abs are, it's your uterus doing the work. I think the most important thing is to be relaxed!!! Seriously when my contractions would start I'd flop my legs open and loosen every muscle in my body, hard to concentrate on it when you're in so much pain. But I just kept thinking, this is a good pain it's natural, and then I would find it easier to focus on being relaxed. 45 minutes and one push....and I didn't exercise at all. BECAUSE ( a good segway (?) to my next point) I was HORRIBLE at the end of Carson's pregnancy. I was unmotivated and miserable. I hated being pregnant and was an awful person. To Finn and to Nik, and to everyone else, they just didn't know it. I threw tantrums because I wanted him to just be out. I was so frustrated with having pubic symphesis and not being able to put on underwear in the morning because I couldn't lift my leg. I am ASHAMED at how horrible I treated everyone and the lack of trust that I placed in the Lord. So, please don't compare yourself to this mom. I was an ugly ugly person at the stage that you're at. The only advice I have to give, is think 7 weeks....and then anything less than that won't make you go crazy.

About the cord clamping. We asked for them to let the cord stop pulsing and I found that I didn't notice what was going on. But Im pretty sure they waited. I've just read that the baby is losing out on the best nutrients that come right after it's been born....and I think a lot of physicians are returning to this school of thought.

Carson didn't have the eye cream....we didn't not ask for it, but apparantly they didn't give it to him, weird now that I think about it. Finn definitely had it, and was asleep when I first saw him, hmmm. who knows?

It sounds like you are doing so well, Dee! If your body needs to take a break from all the preparation and exercise, though, my advice would be to go with your instincts. You probably need a good amount of rest time, not just muscle strength, as you gear up for the hard work of labor! Congrats on being only five weeks away from your due date... I'm excited for you! Oh, and... I thought you might be interested in my blog, too. :)

Oh, the eye stuff, we didn't want it, the nurse forgot and then wiped it off because Dan said something, so she probably had a little bit still but she still had her eyes open and was looking around.
The prefolds need to be washed and dried at least three times I think, the fuzzi bunz just once. Hot with a cold rinse and then line dry or dry on a low temp.

I exercised every day until the day before and though my labour was horrible,  I don't think it had a negative effect and since recovery time and baby adjustments for me didn't allow for a lot of activity these past weeks. So I am glad I kept going.
Aneliese kept moving all the way, though she didn't move as much.
....And I was going to answer other questions but I can't remember what they were:)

I also thought that I would be very self conscious but I was surprised by it all going out the door, I couldn't think about anything but labor and giving birth. I know that it is not that way for some people but you will be ok. It actually took me until late in the next day to get my modesty back:).
