Unfortunately for girls like us the boob thing does settle down ;) But enjoy the next 5 months or so!!! I did... and will again :) I liked this quote- "life circulates in 2 hr increments and doesn't often leave the house. So true. Life takes on a completely different look when babies enter the picture. A lot of adjusting--of routine and attitude... and values. But the whole thing s so valuable and rewarding. Wow, I'm impressed your taking walks after only 4 days after giving birth! You must be healing well in that area. You know some people plant their placenta near a tree or something. After you let the doctor see it, you should ask for it back and plant it in your garden :)

hahahahah!! I loved those quotes! I looked down too and was HORRIFIED!! I've been thinking of you so much the last few days, and I'd love to chat with you, but my cell doesn't have calling to Canada and we don't have our other line anymore. Maybe MSN?? And aren't the boobs insane!!! Don't worry, it will regulate soon.

I've been reading your blog for a while and just knew something was up when you hadn't posted for a few days. CONGRATULATIONS and may God's blessings be with you and your new family.
I loved reading your birth story. One of the best I've ever read. I can understand that most women don't have the time or energy after the birth of their babies to sit and write with such clarity and detail, but I have to say, if more women wrote birth stories like yours, then more expecting moms would be so much better prepared during their labor, births and recoveries. Not to mention, you've now got a great account of your son's birth, written down, never to forget...and believe me, details do leave your memory after a while...and to use as a reference in subsequent births. I only wish I had done the same.
Once again, Congratulations and best wishes.
PS. looking forward to seeing pictures.
God Bless,
~J~

Congratulations on your baby boy! I was glad to read your birth story. I plan on having a drug free birth and reading about your L&D gives me hope that it can be done! Even though it isn't easy. Thanks for posting your experience..first time moms like myself want to know all the details on what to expect. That's a great idea of having a separate bag packed for labor. I'm going to do that.
Best Wishes to you and your family. :)

Birth story well told! And I love that you put all those details! I'm glad that the shower worked for you so well cuz that encourages me that the the birthing tub may be really soothing for me as well. I went in to shock too after having Jane. Having a baby human come out of your body like that can be a traumatic experience physically! He has your nose? How cute. Keep posting the pictures cuz I want to see more of your little guy!

Wow, it sounds to me like you were pretty incredible! Way to go. You are so strong for making it through the whole thing. I know how painful those "transition" contractions are, they never let up. The only way I could describe it accurately was to say that I felt like a caged animal, trying to get out of my own skin. And way to go pushing. I have so much respect for you having to push out a 36 cm head out without an urge to push. You are a powerful mama and the next one will be much easier. The "shock" part is pretty horrible hey? That happened to me with Anna kate because I lost so much blood. I loved your story and that you recorded it while it was still vivid in your mind. How fantastic!
